CURRENT CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Dr Delaney currently continues in active clinical practice in the central business district of Sydney and St Vincent s Clinic. He is an Emeritus Consultant Ophthalmologist at St Vincent s Private Hospital and an Honorary Medical Officer at St Vincent s Hospital where he carries out all the appropriate duties required of these positions. Dr Delaney s principal interest is in the anterior segment ophthalmic surgery with a particular interest in cataract, corneal and refractive surgery. He also has extensive experience in oculo plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr Delaney commenced Excimer laser refractive surgery in 1993 and he established the LASIK training program at the Macquarie Street Excimer Laser Centre in 1998. MEDICO LEGAL EXPERIENCE Dr Delaney has a particular interest in Medico-Legal matters. He has practiced in this field since 1980 and has lectured extensively in this field. His first major lecture was in Medicine for Lawyers held at the College of Law in 1984. This lecture was subsequently published by the College of Law. In 1998 Dr Delaney was a guest lecturer at the Australian Plaintiff Lawyers National Conference. Since then he has made numerous presentations to the RANZCO in Medico- Legal matters, and he has been a regular speaker at Medico-Legal seminars that have been fully accredited by the New South Wales Law Society. Dr Delaney was a member of the Health Care Complaints Commission of NSW Peer Review Panel from 1990-2001. This involved providing independent advice to the HCC on the Standard of Treatment provided by Ophthalmologists. In 2007 Dr Delaney was reappointed to the Expert Advisors Panel of the Health Care Complaints Commission of New South Wales. Since 2009 Dr Delaney has lectured on the Medico-Legal aspects of Refractive Surgery at the Sydney University Refractive Surgery Degree course. In 2009 Dr Delaney was appointed to the Peer Revue Panel of Worksafe Victoria and as a Peer Reviewer for TAC Victoria. In 2010 Dr Delaney was appointed as a representative of the NSW Branch of the AMA on the Medico-Legal Liaison Committee of the Law Society of NSW.

ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE Dr Delaney served as a Board Member of the Medical Eye Service from 1981-1986 and Chairman of the Eye Department of St Vincent s Hospital from 1986 to 1996. Dr Delaney was also Chairman of the Eye Department of St Vincent s Clinic from 1993 to 2013. Dr Delaney was Chairman of the Eye Department of St Vincent s Private Hospital from 1986 until 2001. It is one of the largest private ophthalmic units in Australia and in 1996 St Vincent s Private Hospital was appointed as a Teaching Hospital to the University of New South Wales. Dr Delaney was the Chairman of St Vincent s Private Hospital Medical Credentials Appointment Review Committee for five years from 1999 to 2001. This committee has the responsibility for appointing all new medical officers to St Vincent s Private Hospital as well as reviewing applications for re-appointment. TEACHING AND RESEARCH Dr Delaney s positions at St Vincent s Hospital and St Vincent s Private Hospital involved teaching under-graduates from the University of New South Wales and Registrars from the Sydney Eye Hospital rotating Registrars program since 1981. Dr Delaney has regularly spoken at seminars and conferences on all aspects of cataract, corneal and laser refractive surgery as well as ophthalmic plastic surgery. Dr Delaney s research has been confined to clinical studies and his published papers are listed in this CV. As Chairman of the Eye Department Dr Delaney assisted in the conduct of the research carried out by Professors McCluskey and Wakefield in the field of Ocular Immunology at St Vincent s Hospital and St Vincent s Clinic. Dr Delaney undertook active clinical research into Excimer Laser Treatment at the Macquarie Street Excimer Laser Centre.
