The facility features fitness rooms, a suspended track, 5 court gymnasium, several multipurpose rooms for fitness classes and an indoor turf building along with an Outdoor Pursuits center which has a rock climbing wall. University Program Board Movie: 7:00pm & 10:00pm (Free) The campus University Program Board will be offering a free showing of WONDER WOMAN at Pruis Hall. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana princess of the Amazons and trained to be an unconquerable warrior. After a pilot crashes on the shores of her sheltered island paradise and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana is convinced she can stop the threat and leaves her home. Recycled Percussion: HIJINX! 7:30pm Recycled Percussion has been an unstoppable international phenomenon since 1995, performing more than 4500 shows in 15 countries. The concert will culminate in a performance by the Pride of Mid-America Marching Band and Statesmen. Rock and Bowl: 7:00pm - 1:00 am (Free) Come down to Cardinal Lanes located in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center basement for some free fun with your family. The center features eight bowling lanes and will have on the cosmic bowling lights for the night. The center also has eight billiards tables, a game area and a big screen viewing area. We will also have free pizza and T-Shirts for the families (while supplies last). Chase Charlie 5k Run/Walk: Races start at 8:30am with registration open at 7:00am Get moving this Family Weekend! Join the Ball State University Sport Administration program for the 15th annual Chase Charlie Races! Participate in a 5k race for adults, a Mile Mania race for youth 13 and under, and the Kiddie 100 at halftime of the football game. All races finish on the Scheumann Stadium football field and include a race t-shirt (both tech and cotton options!). Let s make health and physical activity a family affair. Dr. Joe and Alice Rinard Orchid Greenhouse 10:00am-3:00pm With nearly 2,000 orchids, the Rinard Orchid Greenhouse contains the largest university-based orchid collection in the United States, including the Wheeler-Thanhauser Orchid Collection and Species Bank, and Betty Kendall Ladyslipper Orchid Species Collection. The collection is a living museum which provides opportunities for education and conversation of rare and endangered orchid species and it is used for orchid research. The collection also provides opportunities for students and visitors to learn about a diversity of tropical species. Students, faculty, local schools, community, and visitors can see and learn about orchids, edible tropical plants, poison arrow frogs, birds and other tropical creatures that are on display in a small tropical environment. The greenhouse is free and open to the public. Both self-guided and guided tours are available. Christy Woods 10:00am-3:00pm Christy Woods is an outdoor teaching laboratory for Ball State students, as well as the community. Located on the southwest corner of our campus, Christy Woods is a 17-acre property filled with mature deciduous forest, tallgrass prairie, and other plant communities. Take a self-guided tour between 10:00am and 3:00pm and enjoy one of six properties managed by the Field Station and Environmental Education Center.
Bell Tower Recital: 11:00am (Free) We are honored to have John Gouwens perform on campus outside at the base of the bell tower. After his show he will be taking audience members into the Bell Tower for a tour and view of campus that is like no other. Tailgating: (subject to change if game time changes) 11:00am (Free) Enjoy parking close to the stadium and continue the excitement as students, families, and BSU friends start the festivities leading up to the big game! Tailgating lots open three hours prior to kickoff. Five Dollar Family Fest: 12:00pm ($5.00 per person; age 2 and under free; students with meal plans can use a meal swipe) Join Ball State Dining in the upper concourse of LaFollette Square for this annual family favorite lunch. Riverside Avenue in the heart of the Old Quad. DOMA cultivates lifelong learning and recreation in the visual arts through its collection of original works or art from around the world. The collection has grown since 1935, and in 2011 was renamed after the grandson of Frank C. Ball and the museum s largest benefactor, David T. Owsley. Join us this weekend to enjoy activities, art, and self-guided tours. Sunday, September 17, 2017 Brunch with Charlie: 9:00am-12:00pm Start the day with Charlie Cardinal at Noyer Dining. Charlie will be having breakfast with families and taking pictures for you to keep. This event is hosted by Ball State Dining, students with meal plans can bring two guests for breakfast with their breakfast swipe that morning, all other guests are $10.95 + tax, children ages 2 10 are $6.95 + tax and the youngsters under the age of 2 are Free! Ball State Family Weekend Golf Outing: 9:00am (Pricing details available on Family Weekend website) Need some fresh air? Start your day with breakfast and a round of golf with your family or group of friends. This golf outing will be held at the Crestview Golf Club just minutes from campus with breakfast prior to tee off and lunch when you are finished. There will also be many door prizes for those participating to have a chance to win! Register as a team for $200 or as an individual for $50. Fees include a round of golf, green fees, cart, free range balls, as well as breakfast and lunch for each golfer. Teams can pre-register by September 8th to receive a free event T-shirt.
