Seminar #2: 1 CREDIT Shifting Gears Presenter: Michele Ellicks, Community Outreach Coordinator, Mass Department of Transportation Registry of Motor Vehicles Division Shifting Gears is a safe driving program sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Registry of Motor Vehicle Division (RMV) which focuses on issues facing older drivers. Topics include: rules of the road; warning signs of unsafe driving; common collisions and how to avoid them; and driving assessment tools. Topics also include utilizing RMV s services, reporting policies and procedures reporting, and liability. If time allows, the discussion may also include disability parking placard information, application process, and legal uses of a placard or plate. The most recent research concerning older drivers will be covered as well as strategies to prepare an older driver for driving retirement. n Learn how to report at-risk drivers to the Massachusetts RMV n Review Massachusetts relicensing policy as it relates to older drivers n Understand that Massachusetts is a self-reporting state and understand who is liable n Discuss the warning signs of unsafe drivers and identify ways to assess and older driver and improve driver safety Seminar #3: 1.5 CREDITS Accessing Prescription Meds: Resources and Strategies to Help Older Adults Get the Medications They Need Presenters: Colleen Massey, MS, Director of Operations/Adjunct Faculty, MCPHS University, School of Pharmacy-Worcester/Manchester Victoria Howard, Case Manager, Pharmacy Outreach Program, MCPHS University, School of Pharmacy, Worcester Participants will learn about resources and strategies used by the Pharmacy Outreach Program in an effort to help older adults access medications and other supplies.
