Ireland through line management To be part of care team in this residential home. To undertake to lead shifts and supervise duties within the facility in the absence of the Registered Manager. This post includes shifts, weekends and night duty. Responsibilities Main Duties Assess, plan implement and evaluate resident needs and develop and maintain individual care records including care plans. Keep appropriate records as required by statutory regulations. Ensure that the environment is safe and responsive to residents needs. To monitor the health and well being of residents in consultation with members of the multi-disciplinary team and to ensure the safety of staff and residents in relation to moving and handling. To take the lead role during shifts, ensuring that petty cash and residents money is handled and recorded correctly, detailing any discrepancies and reporting such to Registered Manager or other relevant bodies as per policies and procedures. To order, check, administer and record medication use, detailing any discrepancies and reporting such to Registered Manager or other relevant bodies as per policies and procedures.
To assist in the effective and efficient management of the registered residential facility adhering to the aims and objectives as stated in the policy documents of Autism Initiatives and statutory regulations. To keep appropriate records on all matters relating to the operation of the home. To protect the confidentiality of personal information and ensure information is only disclosed to those who have a right and need to know. To promote non-discriminatory practices for all residents. To contribute to verbal and written reports. Undertake duties such as - laundry shopping cleaning and tidying cooking etc, as required To ensure all aspects of the home are clean and maintained to a high standard. To report and document any maintenance requirements. Ensure that all procedures are strictly adhered to in respect of- handling and security of money reporting of incidents, accidents, complaints and complements health and safety regulations fire safety SERVICE USERS/RESIDENTS To ensure that the needs of residents are considered at all times, taking into consideration any sensory, physical or learning disabilities. As far as possible ensure that residents are involved and informed about aspects of their care and life within the home and local community. Develop constructive relationships with residents to enhance their confidence, personal development and general sense of well being. Accompany residents to appointments, meetings and holidays and to other services as required. Ensure that residents are safe, healthy, well nourished and dressed appropriately taking into consideration their age, taste, comfort, special needs and climate.
Enable residents to be involved in all aspects of the activities of daily living including leisure activities that meet individual needs. Give assistance to residents in relation to their personal hygiene, mealtimes and programmes according to their individual care plans. Enable residents to maintain contact with their family and friends as appropriate. To participate in and support Care Assistants with responsibilities as delegated. Demonstrate respect for residents rights, choices, dignity and possessions at all times. TEAMWORK Participate in promoting a team approach at all times. Be polite, courteous and supportive to all team members. Be as flexible in accordance with needs of the duty rota, as requested and be available to cover sickness and annual leave. Assist in the induction of new staff according to NISCC standards. Motivate junior members of the staff team. Take advice as appropriate on issues or queries relating to staff from the Registered Manager. To work in accordance with agreed policies, practices and procedures. Ensure high standards of care and support are promoted at all times. Participate in and contribute to staff meetings. Ensure staff team are courteous and professional towards visitors and other professionals. PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Any other duties as reasonably requested relative to the objectives of the post. Personal Specification Job Title: Location: Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Experience working in a Registered Residential Home. Registered with NISCC or willingness to register. Minimum of 2 years working experience in a supervisory capacity. Ability to act as shift leader. Knowledge of elderly care & special learning needs. Desirable: NVQ Level III in Care.
