Of the Month 2 Veterans 3 Special 8 Birthdays 9 Upcoming Events 10 The East Baton Rouge Sheriff s Office Burbank substation hosted its 5th annual Treat or Trick with deputies event at the Elvin BREC Park. Hundreds of children showed up to enjoy the great decorations, games and contests. Attendees were even able to enter a raffle for cakes donated by EBRSO deputies as part of the first-ever cake decorating contest. Thanks to everyone that made the event such a success. Special thanks also to all the deputies that participated in the cake decorating contest.

EBRSO DEPUTIES OF THE MONTH Corporal Lavontia Ealy, Scotlandville, has been named Patrol Deputy of the Month. Corporal Ealy was hired by the EBRSO on February 23, 2000 in Communications. Since then, she has moved to Uniform Patrol. In August of this year Corporal Ealy assisted the Crime Scene Division in a search for evidence at the scene of a shooting in the Glen Oaks area. Through her search, Corporal Ealy found the weapon used in the crime which lead to further discovery in the case. Deputy Scott Henning, Homicide, has been named Detective of the Month. Deputy Henning began his career with the EBRSO in December of 2010. He is commended for his perseverance and dedication in regards to the investigation of the homicide of Jarvis Nelson. Deputy Henning s investigation lead to the discovery of the murder weapon and the arrest of Gary Davis Vickie Ashley currently works in the Criminal Records Division and has been named Support Services Deputy of the Month. Ms. Ashley was hired in the Criminal Records Division in March of 2001 and has remained loyal to the division ever since. She has recently taken on a new role within the division with extreme professionalism and true organizational skills, which has allowed her to become successful in her new assignment Kimberly Brown, assigned to the Payroll Division, has been named Civil Deputy of the Month. Ms. Brown was originally hired in October of 2002 in the Prison Records Division and worked her way up to the rank Corporal. In February of this year, she accepted a new endeavor within the Payroll Division of the EBRSO. She has maintained a positive attitude and has quickly learned to perform her new duties with exceptional accuracy. Deputy Latoria Stewart, assigned to the Parish Prison, is proudly named as Corrections Deputy of the month. Deputy Stewart was hired in July of 2008 and is commended for her dependability, efficiency and punctuality. She assumes any task assignment without complaint and takes initiative to assist co-workers in tasks that need completion. Lieutenant Candace Brown of Communications has been named the Special Operations Deputy of the Month. Lieutenant Brown has faithfully served the EBRSO for fourteen years in the Tax Office, Inmate Accounts and Communications. Since her transfer to Communications in 2002, she has worked her way through the ranks to that of Lieutenant. She is commended for her positive attitude and professionalism.
