To uphold WDHB and CADS Clinical Policies, Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Practice Guidelines and Practice Standards, in all tasks and expected outcomes. KEY TASKS Provide nursing care services to clients in conjunction with the internal and external multidisciplinary team. EXPECTED OUTCOMES Develop work practices that ensure functional membership of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrate individual responsibility and accountability; reflect adherence to CADS policy/ procedure, practice guidelines and practice standards. Prioritise clients referred for opioid substituion treatment, together with the admission team. KEY TASKS EXPECTED OUTCOMES where appropriate. Coordinate obtaining of documentation such as consent, relevant laboratory tests, accessibility of patient history notes and organisation of file documentation prior to initial medical assessment and treatment commencement. Manage a caseload of clients in treatment, including admission, stabilisation, ongoing treatment and shared care phases. Manage client needs for both long-term treatment and short-term treatment options. Ensure continuous biopsychosocial assessment, planning, monitoring, co-ordination and evaluation. Ensure close liaison, consultation, co-ordination and referral occur with the internal multidisciplinary team. Undertake all administrative tasks associated with the role. Complete all scripts, drug charts, notification of changes to scripting or dispensing, clinical notes, treatment reviews, timesheets and work summaries etc, in accordance with CADS policy and procedure. Administer Opioid Substitution Treatment to AOTS clients as required. Ensure that clients are safely administered the correct dose of OST from the MS imprest stock after consultation with senior team members. Maintain administration of medications requirements where indicated. To meet organisational requirements and to undertake activities that enhance professional development. KEY TASKS Team Planning Training Cultural Safety Ensure that the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi are supported and implemented in delivery of service. EXPECTED OUTCOMES requirements are fully met and accurate records are maintained. Supervision is undertaken from an identified Supervisor in accordance with CADS policy. Involvement in approved research and evaluation activities and projects as negotiated via the management. Participate in and contribute to service quality initiatives, organizational reviews of policy/ procedure, practice guidelines and practice standards. Attend specific competency related training as specified by the manager and /or as negotiated within the Performance Development System. Educational activities via self learning and/or training courses, which ensure that the incumbent remains up to date in the fields of opioid substitution therapy field in particular and alcohol and drug services generally are undertaken in consultation with the Manager and the Clinical Team Leader. All service activities are carried out in a culturally safe manner. A demonstrated commitment to understanding the implications for Maori health that are implicit in the Treaty of Waitangi and to support and participate in the organisation s commitment to biculturalism. Appropriate referral to Te Atea Marino. Appropriate consultation with Te Atea Marino staff when working with Maori clients. Attendance at relevant WDHB bicultural/ Treaty training. Deliver services in accordance with the philosophies, priorities and objectives of WDHB and specifically Mental Health Services Group and CADS. Philosophies and values are known and supported. PERSON SPECIFICATION POSITION TITLE: Qualification Experience CADS Opioid Treatment - Nurse Minimum New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current competency based practicing certificate Several years experience in nursing. Demonstrated case management, consultation and administrative experience. Preferred Registered nurse with clinical experience in the alcohol/ drug or related health or social service field, preferably in case management. Post graduate qualification in alcohol and drug work or in related fields. Experience in alcohol and drug work, preferably in Opioid Substitution treatment. Skills/Knowledge/Behaviour Basic computer literacy. Current drivers license, including manual drive. Good physical and emotional health. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated case management consultation and administrative abilities.
