Job escription TITL: RSPONSIBL TO: ACCOUNTABL TO: JOB SUMMARY: Trainee Assistant Practitioner Supervising Radiographer Learning Facilitator/Radiology Manager To work as part of a team of State Registered Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners promoting good working practices and ensuring good quality care is given to all patients in Radiology. Clinical 1. To undertake a recognised accredited course of study towards the Foundation egree in Radiographic Practice or equivalent qualification. 2. To perform basic radiographic examinations within the limits of individual modules undertaken on a recognised accredited training course under the direct supervision of the Supervising Radiographer Practitioner, and not to exceed those boundaries. 3. To be accountable to the Supervising Radiographer Practitioner. 4. To carry out all diagnostic procedures to the highest possible standard in line with departmental protocols and procedures. 5. Understand and observe the principles of IRMR and participate in QA programmes. 6. To promote total quality care for patients. 7. To be responsible for clean, tidy working clinical areas and ensure all rooms are equipped ready for use. 8. To report equipment faults to the supervising radiographer and take appropriate action. 9. To provide a safe environment in which to examine the patients. 10. To provide a professional and efficient service to the patients. 11. To undertake sterile procedures as directed by Radiologist/Radiographer supervising ducation/evelopment/ Training 12. To participate in all mandatory training. Communication
13. Maintenance of records of patient s examinations as per departmental protocols 14. To be able to maintain good working relationships with radiographers, radiologists, departmental support staff, ward and out-patient staff. 15. To liaise with patients and carers and have the ability to explain day to day procedures, and respond to queries or defer to the supervising radiographer. Clinical governance (Policies, Complaints, H&S) 16. To adhere to all safety regulations with regards to Health and Safety, COSSH and Ionising Radiation regulations. 17. To work within and adhere to standards and operational policies relating to the Radiology epartment.
