Purpose of the role : To provide leadership within the Physiotherapy (PT) Team by demonstrating advanced knowledge and clinical practice. To provide a patient centred, evidenced-based approach to the assessment, management and treatment of a range of physical impairments within an interdisciplinary team framework. To demonstrate leadership in at least two of the following areas of expertise to support service development, as agreed with the Team Leader and PT Professional and Clinical Leader: o Clinical Supervision o Project or service improvement activity o Training and education o Supervision of students, mentorship of other PTs o Professional development activity, e.g. development of best practice guidelines and models o Other specialist clinical resources as required by the team The clinical service is provided across in-patient wards. Cover is provided across both Waitakere and North Shore hospitals and on statutory holiday weekend roster as required Services are delivered in accordance with Waitemata DHB Strategic Plans 2019 Page 2

Quality Assurance Professional Standards of Practice are met in accordance with New Zealand Physiotherapy Board Professional Supervision takes place on a regular basis with professional supervisor (as per SMHOP, A&ED & SAS Policy). Annual review follows performance development guidelines with objectives which are reviewed on a regular basis.
