This will be raised with the provider and a contract query issued. The provider has already submitted an action plan to improve performance in January 2013. The plan was to implement a significant marketing campaign, trying to attract more people into the service. The plan was implemented in Febraury 2013; it included billboard advertising, adverts on buses and trains, radio adverts, local publicity events, sponsoring two orwich City FC games, introducing overtime hours for existing staff to work in evenings and at weekends. In order to record someone as having entered treatment the patient must attend two treatment sessions, these sessions can be anything up to 28 days apart and therefore the results of the plan are

entered treatment the patient must attend two treatment sessions, these sessions can be anything up to 28 days apart and therefore the results of the plan are unlikely to be seen until June and July 2013. There is an added variable with the introduction of the Access and Assessment Service at the provider. The service receives all P IAPT referrals and triages them, sending some to IAPT and others to specialities in the provider. This is a potential interface issue and will need to be monitored. The provider has implemented a more robust triaging process to realign referrals (patients with a high level of acuity/complexity) with more appropriate pathways in secondary mental health. They feel we are starting to see the results of this change but given many patients stay in service for 3-6 months we may not see a sustained recovery until the summer of 2013.
