Dragon Connection Principal s Corner/School Info Dear Parents, May, 2018 The countdown is on! We are in the busiest month of the year with preparations for graduation, recognition celebrations, performances, athletic and academic competitions, and appreciation for staff and volunteers. The students have been concentrating very diligently on their Smarter Balanced Assessments and we are proud of their work. Parents can expect to receive reports of the results in late summer or early fall mailed to your homes. We are thrilled to announce that our duo of Clara Doll and Sophia Resolme captured the #1 spot in the group performance of the California History Day competition! The girls are going to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National History Day competition the week of June 10-14. Plan to join us for a delicious dinner on Monday, May 21 with proceeds going to DC trip! Good luck girls! The Dragon Sports teams have proudly displayed sportsmanship and skills throughout the year and we will recognize our student athletes and their coaches on Wednesday, May 23, 6:30 pm in our cafeteria. All students who have been on the track teams (grades 3-8) and other competitive teams (6-8) and their families are invited to have dessert, enjoy our special speaker, and celebrate each one s accomplishments. Two 8 th grade track stars competed all the way to the Valley Track meet and placed impressively in their events! Cori Fanucchi earned 2 nd in 3000 m and 4 th in long jump and Josephine Dethlefson was 2nd in high jump and 4 th in 100m hurdles. Way to go, Dragons!
