You all were sent the Notice for National Artistic Championships. Nationals, NSW Hosting as you all know, NSW was to host Nationals Artistic Champions in 2017 but had to decline and Queensland is hosting 2017 2018 Western Australia 2019 Queensland 2020 South Australia 2021 Victoria 2022 New South Wales It was agreed that the current sequence should not be interrupted by a state dropping out. At the Semi- Annual 2017. Gawaine said he will look in to this further and speak to Pam Young. New Figures Event Open Senior Event: Will be open to skaters competing in Intermediate, Junior, Advanced and Senior. Open Junior Event: Will be open to skaters competing in Cadet, Intermediate, Junior and Advanced if the skater qualifies by age for Junior in 2018 Skaters can compete in Junior or Senior but not both. Skaters must also be competing in another Figure event. It will be a demonstration event. Cost $10.00 per entry. Anti- Doping All skaters attending the 2017 National Championships and in subsequent years aged 12 years and over will be required to have completed level 1 and level 2 Anti- Doping Certificate, All accredited coaches also to complete Level 1 and Level 2 When completed can you email to me at gaildane@hotmail.com your certificate so then in turn I can pass on to the irrelevant people in Skate Australia. PRESIDENT role statement The President of SkateNSW, in collaboration with the State Executive, will: Provide leadership and strategic support on projects and programs and assist in the implementation of activities with a broader organisational focus Take a strategic role in the development of initiatives within the State. Monitor and advise as required on the implementation of these initiatives. Provide a leadership role in maintaining the image of SkateNSW, via participation in State Events, Meetings and Publications Provide guidance and high-level support to Branch Vice Presidents, and the State Executive on various matters. Maintain effective communication within the State Executive Oversee the state office and offer guidance, instruction and support to the office. Establish and develop links and joint programs as appropriate with other States and National Office and external organisations. Keep pace with developments in Roller Sports and make appropriate recommendations for innovation or improvement. Develop and provide of timely and accurate information and reports. Ensure the integrity of SkateNSW relating to equal opportunity, risk management, occupational health and safety and quality assurance Oversee and provide support to the Executive Officer and Sports Development Officer Chair Executive committee meetings Directs the activities of the other executive members, and assists as required Deals with matters that do not fall within the roles of other executive members
PUBLICITY OFFICER role statement The Publicity Officer of SkateNSW, in collaboration with the State Executive, will: Plan and implement the overall communication plan of SkateNSW with stakeholders including: Executive Committee Executive Officer Sports Development officer Clubs Members Coaches Officials Schools Broader community Media Develop a communication package coordinate the production of flyers, posters, and other promotional material Responsible for all matters pertaining to the distribution of information from the executive to clubs and members Ensures information is reaching members Develop multi-media communication package Provide activity calendar to all members Provide articles of techniques to all members Promote sport through the media Develop a media kit for all branches Liaise with media Actively seek and implement opportunities to publicise the sport in all branches Actively promote SkateNSW across the community Provide clubs with promotional material Develop club participation media promotion kits for all clubs Seek sponsorship Develop and implement sponsorship package Determine and actuate fundraising activities
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR role statement The volunteer coordinator of SkateNSW, in collaboration with the State Executive, will: Identify and recruit volunteers who have the skills to assist with the Strategic and Business Plans of SkateNSW Identify and recruit volunteers to assist with State Championships (and National Championships when they are held in NSW) Monitor budget with spending of grant money related to volunteers on Business Plan activities Liaise with Branch VPs to ensure maximum participation at accreditation courses for coaches and officials Research and activate opportunities for volunteers to increase their skills through leadership and other grants Monitor opportunities for volunteers to upskill in specific areas according to their interests Encourage volunteers to increase their skills. Develop and maintain a database of volunteers with specific skills who may assist SkateNSW. Research and action any strategies necessary to maintain satisfaction among SkateNSW volunteers Maintain regular communications with all SkateNSW volunteers to ensure job satisfaction and retain experienced volunteers Set up a mentor system among volunteers to ensure that inexperienced volunteers are provided with appropriate support. Recognise Volunteers who assist with items on Business Plan by contacting as many of the sports volunteers as possible to thank and encourage them for the work they do. Set up and maintain points system for Volunteers with rewards along the way Assist the other VP s and members of the exec where needed. Liaise and encourage clubs to have a VIP member on their boards. Contact the VIP control group to gain information about what resources are available.
