Dear Residents and Visitors of Cedar Hill, It is with great pleasure that I present the Cedar Hill Police Department 2008 Annual Report. Cedar Hill remains the safest city in the Best Southwest with a 36.4 crime index rating. The Police Department s major accomplishments include: 15-second reduction in Emergency Call Response Time Achieving an 80% overall customer approval rating for police services delivered based on customer service surveys Investigating and solving many high profile and complex cases and maintaining an overall 35% clearance rate Acceptance into the Texas Recognition Program with full recognition award expected in Fall 2009 Moving into the new 34,000 square foot police building in the Government Center Hiring a second Assistant Police Chief to command the Field Operations Bureau Enhanced community policing accountability by establishing permanent patrol and crime prevention (P.A.C.T. Unit) beat assignments As the City of Cedar Hill continues to grow, your Police Department will strive to enhance the services it provides to its residents and visitors with our goal of being premier.
