Purpose of the role : To clinically lead, co-ordinate and monitor all unit requirements in relation to staff performance and clinical service delivery. Clinical Responsibilities Implements and oversees the CADS Pregnancy and clinical programme Ensures clinicians are equipped to perform their clinical roles. Takes responsibility for risk management of consumers in partnership with PPS Psychiatrist and Service Clinical Director. Ensures that all staff remain current in all mandatory training and updates. Advises and informs the Manager in regard to issues/decisions related to day to day clinical operation of the unit Financial Responsibility Manages flexi fund expenditure Information reporting Contributes relevant narrative information to Manager including staffing, vacancy information, that impact on outputs. IT resources for service Identifies IT support/resources required, advises Manager, and liaises with IT Manager. Human Resources Co-ordinates staff recruitment process, including requests to employ relevant staff to Manager; coordinates panel and interview, completes reference checks and recommends appointment to Manager. Ensures orientation of new staff occurs. Participates fully in all requirements of the CADS Performance Development System in regard to performance reviews. Oversees unit staff levels on a day to day basis. Ensures clinical team support staff cover is appropriately organised. Approves any routine staff annual leave and staff sick leave. Quality Ensures that the Pregnancy and implementation of CADS and WDHB Policy/Procedure, Practice Guidelines and Practice Standards are monitored regularly. Participates in and contributes to organisational reviews and audits of Policy/Procedure, Practice Guidelines and Clinical Practice Standards. Actively participates in Pregnancy and Parental Service and CADS wide activities that promote the development of best practice standards within CADS. Co-ordinates all unit requirements in regard to systems and standards auditing as required by the WDHB Quality Team and/or Service Accreditation requirements With the clincal governance team, promotes all research and quality initiatives within the Pregnancy and and provide liaison with the Research and Quality Teams Provides programme design, facilitation and evaluation input to the CADS Internal Training and Education Programmes as directed by the Manager. Ensures all service activities are carried out in a culturally safe manner. Reports incidents/ accidents/ clinical risks to Manager. Leadership Provides 2 IC cover as per delegated authority and in the absence of the Manager if required. Actively facilitates and participates in communication, liaison and consultation with all services that currently and/or could potentially utilise the Pregnancy and Maintains proactive interface with all CADS teams and participates in the CADS Regional CTL forum Facilitates Pregnancy and Parental service participation in vulnerable pregnant women forum s. With Manager facilitates and coordinates Pregnancy and Parental service role in supporting the Ministry of Healths expansion of the Pregnancy and Parental service model Planning Actively contributes to Unit Plan development. Oversees and ensures Unit Plan is implemented.
