NO SCHOOL FEBRUARY 18 www.lockwoodschool.org LOCKWOOD SCIENCE FAIR Thursday, March 14 2019 Grades 1-8 Public Viewing 5:30-6:30 p.m. Awards at 6:15 p.m. READING PRIDE AT LOCKWOOD SCHOOL On Thursday, February 14, "Reading Pride" will take place at Lockwood School. Volunteers from ExxonMobil Billings Refinery, First Interstate Bank and MSUB will visit classrooms to read to students. The volunteers will be making quarterly visits to promote the message that "reading matters" in everything we do. What a great collaborative partnership between neighborhood business to promote reading and literacy at Lockwood School. LOCKWOOD SCHOOLS 3RD, 4TH, AND 5TH CO-ED BASKETBALL League Registration: January 10-February 10, 2019 Fee: $30 (includes: Lockwood jersey and water bottle.) The program will run every Saturday starting March 16 and ending on April 13. Each grade will have the opportunity to develop basic skills, build on fundamentals, and play real live basketball games. 5th Grade 8:00 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. 4th Grade 9:45 a.m. -11:15 a.m. 3rd Grade 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Register online at Lockwoodschool. LOCKWOOD PTA NEWS FROM THE DEN THANK YOU! With all your support, and in conjunction with the Coin Drive, PTA was able to help 20 kids with their lunch accounts. Thank you to the Knuckles Up fundraiser that occurred back in September, PTA was able to purchase warm gloves for the teachers to loan out during the day. Thank you for supporting the Lockwood PTA Dominos night - the next Domino's night will be March 6th! UPCOMING EVENTS: Yellowstone Coffee and Canvas. Monday, February 18, is a day off from school. If you are looking for something fun to do with your children on that day, we encourage you to check out Yellowstone Coffee and Canvas. On Mondays they run a special where kids can paint a canvas for $12. They supply the canvas and painting supplies, and they also are great at offering support for the painters! As an added bonus, the Lockwood PTA will be purchasing a hot chocolate for each little painter. We hope to see a lot of you there! Spring pictures will be coming up on Friday, March 1. Watch for information to come home with the students in February, but you can mark it on your calendar now. PTA is in charge of lining up the volunteers for this day, so please let us know if you would be interested in helping out. NO PTA meeting in February! Don t forget to save those BOX TOPS! These can be found on the following products: Betty Crocker, General Mills, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Totino's Pizza, Progresso soup, Yoplait, Green Giant frozen foods and Campbell's soup labels. Please drop them off at the school offices. The money comes directly to our PTA. TYSON PRODUCT LABELS WANTED The Lockwood PTA is collecting labels off of Tyson Chicken products. Please send any labels to your school office. They can go in the container with the Box Tops. Thank you for supporting Lockwood PTA.

On early out Wednesday the club opens at 2:00. LOCKWOOD COMMUNITY MEETINGS Brr it's cold outside. Please help your child dress with appropriate clothing and outer wear. Let s enjoy winter! Lockwood Community Steering Committee meets the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. or as set during holidays in the Lockwood School Board Room. The routines incorporate interval and resistance training. New students are always welcome! Instructor: Pam Class Days/ Times: Tuesday and Thursday, 6-7 p.m. Place: Voting Gym Fee: $1.50 a session or $15.00 for a punch card BELLYDANCING Bellydancing has its beginnings in India and the Mid-East. Now is your chance to learn the basics right here Lockwood. All you'll need to bring is a smile and a willingness to have a great time! Bellydance is a popular way to stay fit mentally and physically. Come challenge yourself in a fun and safe environment! New class session starts October 22 Instructor: Bek Class Days/ Times: Monday, 6-7 p.m. for beginning class, 7-8 p.m. advanced class Place: Primary Gym Fee: $1.50 a session or $15.00 for a punch card YOGA Yoga is a different type of exercise class, with the main focus on mind, body and spirit connections while having fun. It is designed for beginners to intermediate students with many modifications offered depending on your body type and flexibility. Bring your own mat. Instructor: Susan Class Days/ Times: Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. Fridays, 3:30 p.m. Place: Primary Gym Fee: $10.00 a month for 1 session a week or $18/month to attend 2 sessions a week
