P A G E 6 RTA News The Retirees of Tempe Advisory group meets usually the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 am to discuss the activities and programs at the Pyle Center and to advise and help the staff with 2016 RTA Board: Don Woodley, Lorna planning. All RTA Scooler, Don Galen & Linda Williams members are welcome to join the discussion and become more involved in senior activities at Pyle. Membership in the RTA is only $5 per calendar year. The membership fees help to defray the cost to the city s taxpayers for the free senior activities at the Pyle Center. RTA members receive a discount on Thursday special events and $3 Lunches at Pyle. RTA board candidates for 2017 at the time of this writing are Lorna Scooler President; Don Woodley VP; Lance Gavre Second VP; Linda Williams Secretary. Thank you to these members for stepping up to run for these offices. The election ballots are available at the Pyle front desk until Dec. 16. Our next meeting will be December 1, 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room. Join us! AARP Tax-Aide Volunteers Needed The AARP Foundation is recruiting volunteers for the 2016 tax filing season. Tax-Aide volunteers file free tax returns for seniors and low income families throughout Arizona. There are a number of volunteer jobs that need to be filled, from Greeters and Tax Counselors to technical coordinators who set up and maintain equipment or other leadership positions. It is not nec- essary to be an AARP member in order to volunteer. Please consider helping AARP provide this valuable service to citizens of our state who need help.
