Sergeant: Nil. Sergeant Rod presented everyone with their Centurion Certificate in recognition of member s efforts in raising at least $100.00 for Foundation. The Club also was awarded as a Centurion Club, the only Club in the District with a 100% success rate. There was a special fine for Noel with the launching of the Save the Langley Mansion, under threat from developers, to avoid the fate of some of the other stately homes in Sale. President s Announcements: President David outlined his ideas for the coming year and encouraged members to contribute. He commenced his remarks by saying that he wanted the year to be fun for all members and for members to have plenty of opportunities to contribute. David referred to our very successful Blaze Aid operation in 2012 and drew parallels with Sale Central s Monday Tucker. His suggestion that we could offer our support on a regular basis gain approval of members present. David is also keen to continue our support for the Wheelchair Project and Jude Ripper s Tree Planting initiative as wife of the D.G.. Rachel will liaise with Jude. David introduced his new Board especially welcoming new member Jenni as assistant secretary and returning member Carmel as Vocational Director. Other areas of interest promoted by David were: Rotary Leadership Seminar National Youth Science Forum Continue Centurion contribution Matching Grants possibly for the Water Tower project Nursing and medical Scholarships. 5 Star Project. Leo reported that the second stage higher needs unit development is well under way with land purchased and many opportunities for Rotary to become involved. Fundraising options will be discussed by the board. From the editor: Sailability is losing its home currently in Max Morrison s old shed currently occupied by Maclaurin Upholstery. We are very grateful to the owner who has allowed us to store the boats and trailer so close to Lake Guthridge free of charge for the past 10+ years, but it is now up for sale and we will have to move out soon. Any members with any suggestions for a place to store our boats so the good work of Sailability can continue can contact me ASAP. Thanks, in anticipation. Neil.
