Within the hospital there is neonatal intensive care unit which admits and cares for about 7000 newborns every year. There are 24 different departments that provide a wealth of

experience to residents, interns and doctors who are exposed to a great variety and number of cases. This hospital provides the ideal balance where residents can gain extensive experiences in the field by having the backup of excellent teaching and training facilities. Residents are expected to assess, care for and manage patients under supervision by senior doctors. The hospital handles full scope of gynecological operations including oncological and laparoscopic procedures. The high risk pregnancy unit is equipped with the most advanced medical equipments including Doppler ultrasounds and CTG machines and is skilled in the management of patients with high risk pregnancies by providing genetic counseling, prenatal screening and diagnostic tests, intrauterine fetal procedures and antenatal care. The labour ward is equipped with the most advanced medical equipments including Doppler ultrasound and CTG machines during labour. Responsibility as a resident/specialist includes: - Resuscitating patients with shock - Managing laboring pregnant women at labour ward - Managing high risk pregnancies - Providing antenatal and postnatal care - Doing and/or assisting amniocentesis,cvs - Providing comprehensive abortion care - Doing and assisting elective and emergency caesarean sections - Operating and/or assisting elective and emergency gynecological operations - Managing all gynecological emergencies My residency/specialization trainings have provided me substantial knowledge, experience, skills and attitude to manage different obstetrical and gynecological problems. In the course of my residency/specialization I handled all admission ward emergencies partly independently and partly under supervision. I also performed major gynecological operations as well as all minor surgeries partly independently and partly under supervision such as: - Abdominal hysterectomy - Ovarian cystectomy - Diagnostic laparoscopy - Caesarean section - D&E for abortion - Tubal ligations - I&D for abscesses. -Tuboplasty I have gained a wide range of experiences in the following fields: 1. Management of normal and assisted deliveries, including cesarean section for various indications and assisted breech and instrumental deliveries (Vacuum, outlet and low forceps) 2. Management of high risk pregnancies using modern methods of monitoring to assess the patient s and fetal well being 3. Management of pre-term pregnancies and deliveries

Interns are expected to provide primary assessment and care for all patients under supervision by senior doctors. I officially rotated through the departments of the hospital. I have done my rotations of pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics at medical faculty of Belgrade University and rotation in health center.
