Activity Report: During the month of April the Brown Deer Police Department responded to 1254 calls for service, issued 492 traffic citations, 12 parking citations and made 58 non-traffic related arrests/citations. Overall activity level was slightly higher when compared with the prior year. Citations & Arrests Traffic: 492 Non-Traffic: 58 Speed Related 181 Weapon Related 1 Traffic Signs & Signals 25 Battery 1 Driver License Violations 98 Burglary Vehicle Registration 79 Disorderly Conduct 7 OMVWI/PAC 3 Obstructing/Resisting 1 Insurance 62 Drug Related 4 Seat Belts 26 Theft 2 All Others 18 Retail Theft 14 Robbery Truancy All Others 28 Chief s Report The Department continues to concentrate efforts on traffic crash reduction strategies. This month we conducted seven High Visibility Traffic Enforcement (HVTE) details that resulted in 6 citations and 32 warnings. HVTE details were conducted on roadways with the greatest number of traffic crashes. We held our first "Coffee With a Cop" event at the Community Center. While the attendance was light we listened to the concerns of those present and answered any questions they had. The Department deployed its Bike Unit for the first time this year in support of the Deer Run. It was very well received! Page 2
