LeChee Health Facility Participates in National Night Out: Bridging Together Communities LeChee Health Facility participated in the National Night Out hosted by the Page Police Department on August 2. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships with local service providers to make neighborhoods safer, and a better place to live. The event brought new relationship building and opened lines of communication, all in an effort to bring communties together. LeChee Health Facility setup two informational booths provided by the Clinic and Pharmacy Department. The Departments shared information about services, hours of business, how to become a patient at LeChee Health Facility, and pharmacy services. The outreach at the National Night Out provided an opportunity for LeChee Health Facility to share information about services to those who might not otherwise have access to or were unaware of in the community. The National Night Out involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, neighborhood organizations and local officials from Page and neighboring communities in the area. Communities that are engaged and have residents who communicate with one another are safer communities said Page Police Chief Frank Balkcom, Sr. National Night Out is a great opportunity to get to know your community and support local crime prevention efforts. The event included informational and resource booths from local providers, and the BBQ, music and entertainment were provided by the Page Police Department. I would just like to thank you all for participating in this year s National Night Out, said Sandi Klain, Page Police Department Administrative Assitant. It was great to see everyone out there and dedicating their time to this great event. Page 2

If an emergency occurred tomorrow, would you be ready? National Preparedness Month is a time to prepare yourself and those in your care for emergencies and disasters, both large scale and smaller local events. We know that emergencies can happen unexpectedly in communities just like yours, to people like you. We ve seen tornados, flash floods, and even water main breaks and power outages that impact communities. The most important step you can take in helping your local responders is being able to take care of yourself and those in your care for at least a short period of time following an incident; the more people who are prepared, the quicker the community will recover. Here are some steps to prepare yourself and family members for disasters and emergencies. We prepare every day. Take steps to prepare yourself and family members for disasters and emergencies. BE INFORMED about emergencies likely in your area. Sign up for local alerts, download the FEMA app, and monitor the news and weather. MAKE A PLAN about where to go and how you ll communicate with your family in an emergency (see back). BUILD A KIT or have supplies on hand that you ll need to live independently for several days. Include food, water, and medicine for your family and pets. TAKE ACTION and help others prepare in your community. Page 4

Unfortunately, along with bringing home their homework, kids can also bring home lots of new germs which means lots of coughs and colds, runny noses, sore throats and even the flu. Things you can do to prevent those germs from spreading: Wiping down surfaces like bedside tables, kitchen tables and counters, and door knobs. Cover coughs and sneezes with tissue. Stay away from people that are sick if possible. Get you and your family vaccinated from the flu, and most of all WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY. Flu Season is fast approaching. TCRHCC will be providing Flu vaccines to the communities in the Tuba City Service Unit in the next couple of months. Look out for Community Flu Clinic schedule in the newspaper, Facebook, and on our TCRHCC website. For more information or to register for the Prenatal Classes, call (928) 283-2599.
