BRAVO SQUAD Sgt. J. D. Goff Officer Tommy Stokes completed hours Canine Training and USPCA Narcotics Team Certification and Mandatory Year Certification. Officer Heather Vance completed Speed Measurement Class at P.S.C. * Jeffery Treecyc West-Battery DV/Aggravated Assault, and Violation of Probation. COMMUNITY SERVICE: Explorer Post, with sponsor Officer T. Stokes, volunteered at the Polk County Elections Office on Tuesday, 8/. Officer Valez is currently attending Basic Traffic Homicide School at PSC. CHARLIE SQUAD Sgt. Gerad Hunt Officer Smith completed hours of K-9 Training and hours. Explorer Training. Officer Thorner attended Radar School, and Officer Hauser is currently enrolled in the Traffic Homicide Course. * Malcolm Pierce-Aggravated Assault w/deadly Weapon. * Patrick Panton-Theft/Vehicle OTHER INFORMATION/COMMUNITY SERVICE: Members of Charlie Squad and the Police Explorers worked the Supervisor of Elections August elections. Charlie Squad officers completed School Familiarization Training. Officers have spent a considerable amount of time working traffic in the school zones. Warnings have been issued due to the start of the new school year. DELTA SQUAD Sgt. William Reall Sgt. Reall graduated from Certified Pubic Management (CPM) year program on Thursday, August 8th. David Reynolds completed his Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice Management. * Justin Henry-Sexual Battery (victim Under ) and Lewd & Lascivious Molestation. * Det. Zawacki and HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force) conducted surveillance operations within Bartow during the month of August, eventually this lead to a search of the suspects residence. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately for following: $0,000 US Currency, two () vehicles (0 Audi and 0 Chevy Ford 50), four () firearms, two which are believed to be fully automatic, and over one pound of Methylone, another form of MDMA. * Det. Lawson conducted a burglary investigation which led to a search warrant being obtained for the recovery of stolen property. Numerous household items were recovered, and this is an ongoing investigation. COMMUNITY SERVICE AND EVENTS: Detectives coordinated a Mock Robbery Training for Community Southern Bank employees. SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS Sgt. Hiram Saunders * Arrested Bartow Middle Student for Felony Battery and Violation of Parole * Arrested Bartow High School Student for Possession of Cannabis. OTHER: Bartow Middle School was placed on Lock-Down on the afternoon of Aug. 0th due to a shooting at Mary Holland Park. COMMUNITY SERVICES TEAM (C.S.T.) Submitted by: Cpl. Bryan Dorman Cpl. Assisted Spessard Holland Elementary with Pledge of AAA Safety Patrols. Hosted the Emergency Planning Session for Bartow Schools. CST Officer "Tag" Tagliarini bagging evidence (drugs) confiscated during a traffic stop Attended the Monthly Polk County Parks and Recreation Meeting to discuss problematic events that cause disruption in the parks. C.S.T. COMMUNITY EVENTS CONTINUED AUGUST 0 ACTIVITY REPORT CST Coordinated a Security Training for employees at the Polk Tax Collectors Office. Assisted Detectives in the Mock Robbery Training at Community Southern Bank Coordinated traffic patterns and control with Union Academy staff due to the closure of Wabash St. Utilized the new speed/message trailer at multiple locations to warn motorists of traffic concerns, especially school zone areas. Conducted "Walk-throughs" at several schools to ensure a safe beginning for the school year. CURRENT ACTIVITIES: Currently conducting narcotic investigations at several locations within the city. CST continues to assist School Resource Officers in order to have additional coverage in the schools.
