A SMP meeting was held on 06 Dec 2018 at 53 Area Fitness Center Bldg.30301. HM1 Loaiza called the meeting to order at 1330. List of those in attendance is provided on the sign in sheet (attachment 1). 2. Mr. Eddie Hadley- SMP Coordinator Last month s minutes can be found at www.mccscp.com under the recreation / SMP tab. 3. SgtMaj Meza SgtMaj MCIWest-MCB CamPen Thanked Single Marine Program for the holiday help during Thanksgiving (free Thanksgiving meal at all SMP Rec Centers) Marines & Sailors: its traveling season, be safe for the holidays. Safe travels and best wishes! 4. Mr. Michael Rumbaua, Bachelor Housing Manager Bachelor Housing - takes care of BAH requests, aid in inspections, and handles "no cost billeting" which refers to placing small units in BEQ. Bachelors Housing has 3 main purposes, which are: 1. BAH packages Sergeants and Corporals turn in a lot of BAH packages. Please be aware, the entire base must be at 95% or higher occupancy to allow Sergeants and Corporals to turn in and accept BAH packages. The base is currently at 65% occupancy. 2. No Cost Billing Units training in area on base are housing by Bachelor Housing. 3. Improve quality of life of the marines in the barracks Remember to turn off ALL electronics and lock doors when leaving barracks rooms If you are need of furniture or linen, there are many spares from barracks being torn down contact Jay (760) 725-3918 BAH Packages pregnant females (MCI West 5000.2) can live in barracks until full term. (1) Rule 1. A pregnant active duty Marine, with no dependents, may reside in bachelor quarters for the full time. 5. Mrs. Teresa Graham, Youth Sports & Athletics - Volunteer coaching opportunities: Winter Flag-Football, Basketball & Cheerleading. 115 hours towards LOA. Background check required. Mrs. Heather Williams, Health Promotions Health Promotions will soon be known as Human Performance and includes services such as: fitness measurements, Resting Metabolic Rate, assistance for BCP Marines, body fat measurements, Vo2 Max testing, etc. Jan 9 th Nutrition 101 Class Nutrition and Fitness BCP, 8 hour course, must register. 7. Registration is currently open & ends December 5th or until full. 12/12 Dana West Yacht Club Christmas Dinner - This FREE event is geared toward Active Duty who will not be going home for the Holidays. 1630 departure from Semper Fit HQ, Bldg. 1253, alternative departure locations may be arranged. Participants must ride with SMP to the event. Business Casual attire is required, no jeans. Open to single service personnel only, command authorization form is required prior to sign-up. Registration is currently open & ends December Dec 9th or until full. 12/25 - SMP Christmas Stocking Giveaway - All SMP Centers will observe holiday hours. If you didn t get to go home for the holidays, stop in and get a Christmas stocking from SMP and our sponsors. A limited number of stockings will be available at each Single Marine Program Recreation Center. 01/01 - Polar Bear Plunge - 1100 at Del Mar Beach Resort, take a quick dip in the Pacific Ocean to celebrate the New Year. Costumes are encouraged! DJ will kick off the plunge at noon. Ramone s Cantina will provide FREE hot cocoa, coffee, and breakfast burrito per participants. Register at Del Mar Beach day of the event. 01/11 Iron Mountain Hike - This trip is only $5.00 per person, pre-registration is required to plan for food. Group departs Semper Fit HQ, Bldg. 1253 at 0700. Registration opens Dec 11th & ends Jan 8th or until full. 16. Conclusion Meeting ended at 1400. Newsletter December 2018 Advanced registration is required for all SMP trips, events & volunteer opportunities. Program events are open only to single Marine and Sailors stationed on Camp Pendleton. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with SMP HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all SMP activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg. 1253. Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation. Bravos are the requested uniform for these events. Max of 6-10 volunteers needed for each opportunity. Each event begins at 1600. You MUST be a Single Marine or Sailor and register BEFORE the event to attend. 12/11 - Rancho Vista Retirement Home 12/12 - Pacific Place Retirement Home 12/26 - Fairwinds Retirement Home 12/12 & 12/26-1000 Base Stables Volunteer Day Camp Pendleton Stables, Bldg. 1516. Participants will help clean & groom horses, clean stalls, & help with general maintenance at the stables. Uniform of the day is civilian attire. Closed toed shoes are required. A maximum of 10 participants are needed for this opportunity. Participants must sign up prior to the event. Bring water! 01/25 PE Fitness Challenge - Volunteers will host an all-day fitness challenge at an on-base school. All volunteers must meet at Semper Fit Headquarters at 0630. Please eat breakfast before you arrive. Dress attire is the Marine Corps Running Suit with green PT shorts and plain skivvy shirt underneath. Lunch will be provided. 40 volunteers needed.
