This resulted in two articles in the publication process as well as two talks at math conferences with peer reviewed abstract submission processes. 2013-2014, Project NExT Fellow New Experiences in Teaching is a program sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America to aid in the professional development of mathematicians, statisticians, and mathematics educators after they receive their PhDs. It involves workshops and lectures on teaching, academic research, academic scholarship, and professional activities. Fall 2011-Fall 2012, Graduate Certificate in College Teaching This is a 12 semester hour program consisting of coursework, practica and creating an eportfolio. The program aims to prepare graduate students for becoming more effective teachers in careers in post-secondary education. From a memo to the Departmental Executive Officers and Directors of Doctoral Programs: This is a five-year award designed to help programs recruit their very strongest doctoral applicants. It is valued at approximately 150,000 dollars over five years and includes three years of research fellowship and two years of service as a teaching assistant as well as summer stipends for 4 summers. This is a 117 dollar award to help fund travel expenses for graduate students University wide to attend and present research at conferences. Recipient of the William T. Young Scholarship at Transylvania University. This is a four year full tuition scholarship given to approximately twenty students annually and is valued at approximately 120,000 dollars over four years. Recipient of the Thank A Teacher award. This award consists of a message from students given to exceptional professors or teaching assistants in order to let them know that their teaching is appreciated. It is coordinated by The University of Iowa Center for Teaching (Fall 2009). Member of the Holleian Society at Transylvania University (Inducted Spring 2008). The Holleian Society is Transylvania University s honorary society. Modeled after Phi Beta Kappa, the society was founded in 1960 to recognize excellence in liberal arts studies and for faculty members to investigate and pursue the granting of a Phi Beta Kappa chapter at Transylvania. Duties: Selects and advises strong candidates for externally funded scholarships for postgraduate study, e.g., the Rhodes, Marshall, and Truman Scholarships, and for major internally funded scholarships for undergraduate study in Westminster approved programs at other institutions of higher education, e.g., the Cranshaw and the Piper Scholarships. I served as a member of this committee. (Fall 2016 - Present) Westminster Problem Solving Group. This was a group which would meet to think about challenging math problems to help practice for the Putnam and other similar mathematical problem solving competitions. (Fall 2014 - Present) Westminster Math Club. I have served as the co-sponsor where we put on events like π-day celebrations, movie events, and bringing students to math conferences. (Fall 2014 - Present) Westminster Tabletop Gaming Club. I have served as the faculty sponsor for this club which meets to play table top strategy and board games for about 3 hours each week.
