Activity Report: During the month of July the Brown Deer Police Department responded to 1364 calls for service, issued 383 traffic citations, 12 parking citations and made 14 non-traffic related arrests/citations. Overall activity level was similar when compared with the prior year. Citations & Arrests Traffic: 383 Non-Traffic: 14 Speed Related 119 Weapon Related Traffic Signs & Signals 22 Battery 13 Driver License Violations 11 Burglary/Trespassing Vehicle Registration 58 Disorderly Conduct 14 OMVWI/PAC 1 Obstructing/Resisting 3 Insurance 43 Drug Related 17 Seat Belts 16 Theft 9 All Others 5 Retail Theft 25 Robbery Domestic Related 18 Warrants 28 All Others 13 Chief s Report The Department continues its efforts in crash reduction. So far, this year we ve had no fatal motor vehicle crashes and have seen 1 fewer injury crashes than this time last year. Sadly, the Milwaukee Police Department suffered another officer killed in the line of duty in July. The Department extended its condolences to the MPD and will be sending representatives to the funeral on August 1, 218. The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG) officially notified the Department that it met all applicable standards and is being awarded Accreditation status for another 3 years. Officer Andersen and the community outreach vehicle participated in the National C.O.P.S. Kids Camp. The camp is held annually for children of officers killed in the line of duty. Officer Andresen also participated in the motorcycle motorcade bringing the kids to the event. Page 2
