Travelling Conferences German experts (from universities, research institutes and enterprises) present a topical research issue in up to three countries; Travelling conferences as platform to present German cutting-edge research in natural sciences and engineering; to discuss research topics of common interest; Partner Countries to strenghten/to build-up existing and new partnerships. Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, China, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand Most Travelling Conferences chose Vietnam as one of their partner countries Call in 2017 open until March 31 4
Sustainable Development of Urban Regions Addressing the "resilience of cities, their hinterland and urban regions through: Integrated city planning, e.g. for energy- and resource-efficient building, growing and resilient infrastructure systems and sustainable mobility; Reduction of GHG & pollutant emissions in companies, households and transport; 1.Preparatory Risk management work for for extreme the R & D weather phase (18 events or 24 and months) natural disasters. International Partnerships for Sustainable Technologies (CLIENT II) Support int l partnership in the areas of climate, environment and energy; Fund joint research and development (R&D) projects carried out by research institutions, industry and local authorities/stakeholders and practice partners; Support demand-oriented R&D projects in emerging / developing countries; Focal Areas in Cooperation with Vietnam Resource Require the efficiency participation and sustainable of funding resource bodies (e.g. technologies ministries) of Water partner management countries Climate protection / energy efficiency, adaptation to climate change Land management Further calls in 2017/18 and 2019 6
Bilateral Call BMBF-MOST Joint research funding for a period of up to 3 years for the following purposes: Strengthening/building-up existing and new partnerships; Support of joint applied research; Special focus on the training of young scientists; Promote innovation system in both countries (involvement of industry Focal Areas an asset). Bioeconomy International (Bilateral Calls BMBF-MoST) Vietnamese and German experts (from universities, research institutes and enterprises) form R&D consortia addressing one of five fields of action: Securing global nutrition; Ensuring sustainable agricultural production; Producing safe and healthy food; Using renewable resources for industry; Developing biomass-based energy. 2014: 19 eligible proposals submitted to MoST / BMBF, 4 joint projects funded 2016: 20 eligible proposals submitted to MoST / BMBF, selection of projects to be funded is expected in March 2017 Call Statistics 8
Establishment of joint research presences Mainly funding for coordination, mobility and workshops to promote four goals: Establishment of institutional cooperation of German universities with centers of excellence in the Asian-Pacific region; Sustainable German visibility in the partner country; Platform for joint research projects (in Germany: national funding programs, EU Horizon 2020, etc.); Joint contribution to strengthen the innovation system in both Call Statistics countries.
