To be proactive and up to date with current literature and evidence-based therapy approaches. To provide day-to-day management of the orthopaedic team, liaising with PCL and AHTL. KEY TASKS EXPECTED OUTCOMES Clinical Practice Staff Development Professional Development Physiotherapy intervention is carried out in accordance with relevant Guidelines of Practice and based upon an evidencebased framework. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in physiotherapy intervention with complex orthopedic conditions including acute spinal cord injury Workload is prioritised and managed appropriately Assists in providing senior support across acute service including respiratory Patients needs are advocated for Patients rights and privacy legislation are adhered to Equitable participation in Hospital weekend and on call rosters Role models high standard of clinical professional practice when working alongside staff or students including provision of coaching and supervision. Provides coaching, supervision, support and assistance to staff and students Leads and participates in physiotherapy team in-service training program Contributes to education of other staff. I.e. The allied health team, nursing team and other services in consultation with the Professional Clinical Leader. Continued professional development (CPD) is effectively achieved (all HPCA requirements are met) Actively participates in own supervision and evaluation of practice Appropriate professional development courses and conferences are attended. KEY TASKS Administration Quality improvement Communication Promote Physiotherapy EXPECTED OUTCOMES Time management allows for ward meetings, in-services, business meetings, and ongoing education Liaise with PCL and AHTL regarding staffing allocation Manage, audit and maintain orthopaedic equipment on wards Have an overview of complaint management within orthopaedic physiotherapy team Statistical collection is completed within expected timeframes and accurately accounts for paid hours and workload Active involvement in Quality initiatives including service planning, review and development Participation in clinical evaluation / research Education and supervision is provided to Junior and Middle level staff members and other services Referrals are made according to Standards of Practice Written documentation is in accordance with Standards of Practice Liaises with MDT staff to co-ordinate orthopaedic services Contributes to effective senior team functioning Customers internal and external are aware of Physiotherapy, its availability and potential.
