A MESSAGE FROM THE AUXILIARY PRESIDENT Our Regular Meeetings are held on the 1st Thursday of the month @ 7 PM in the dining room. Our Membership is up to 46% as of November 16th. We are working hard to hit the 100% mark hopefully sometime in the New Year. In November we collected canned goods to help 20 Veteran families in need. Thanks to everyone for your contributions, they were greatly appreciated! Our Post families had a great dinner too on Thanksgiving Day!! The Auxiliary is planning our Annual Children s Christmas Party to be held in our Hall on Saturday, December 15th from 1pm-4pm. Santa will be there with his trust elves to distribute gifts. Kindly chek our Newsletter and Bulletin Boards for all our present and future activities. For God and Country Virginia Stein, Auxiliary President Message from The Director; Post 142 Legion Riders For God & Country Russell Yeomans; Director of Post 142 Riders Message from Post 142 SAL/Squadron Commander i would like to start by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! As we finish 2018 I would like to ask that all SAL members get their 2019 dues paid. We need to meet the membership target dates set by the Department of Florida. The children s Christmas Party by the Auxiliary will be on December 15th from 1-4pm. The Post Christmas Party is on the 16th from1-3pm. Best to all.

If you re full of Patriotism, you re full of Love for your Country! Rob McCarten; Squadron Commander njirish11@gmail.com / Mobile #: 646-246-5948 Post Service Officer Corner December 2018 Our Post Service Officers attended annual training in November. To our surprise there has been a change in our duty responsibilities. Effective immediately, a PSO is NOT authorized to file any claims on behalf of the claimant. PSOs serve as valuable resources to veterans in local posts to ensure that our veterans and their dependents receive their earned benefits. Implementing this policy change will mean our members must be referred to a department service officer(dso). Our members still have the luxury of seeing a DAV service officer who still have the authority to file claims for the veteran.
