Purpose of the role : To coordinate the research across the screening pathway for the HPV Self-Sampling Randomised Controlled Trial. This includes development of any research supporting documentation: protocols, process algorithms, ethics approval/amendments, facilitation of IT systems, contract preparation, routine monitoring and reporting, incident management, quality and risk management, support and facilitation of Research Nurse responsibilities (primary care access, recruitment, informed consent of participating women, management of results), liaison with key research co-investigators and internal and external stakeholders. KEY TASKS Research planning, including EXPECTED OUTCOMES Identify key stakeholders and appropriate engagement processes, develop communications plan Identify key project documents and develop or update the protocol, patient information sheet, consent form, invitation letters, active follow up and advertising materials as required Update ethical approval as required Develop or modify research presentations for a variety of key stakeholders Facilitate the approval of the research through the required forums (eg Localities approval, Metro Auckland Clinical Governance Forum etc) Development of communications plan Development and updating of standard Research documents Receipt of relevant approvals to proceed Research coordination, including Work with the Research Nurse, PHOs and practices to identify eligible women Support successful models and methods to invite women to participate in study that are unscreened and under screened Develop and test processes for the Research Nurse to refer of hard to reach women to the designated Independent Service Provider (ISP) Develop or update contracts for key project activities eg IT systems Liaise with Auckland Pathology Service regarding any results management issues Liase with other key stakeholders to resolve any identified issues On track recruitment for the Randomised Controlled trial Auckland Site Produce regular and ad hoc monitoring and reporting IT systems function as required Troubleshoot and resolve research issues as they are identified Waitemata District Health Board -JOB DESCRIPTION - Page 3
KEY TASKS Develop standard monitoring reports and complete ad hoc reporting as required Write Board, Committee or other reports as required EXPECTED OUTCOMES Interprofessional health care and quality improvement Develop and maintain effective relationships with: o Key PHO and general practice personnel with responsibility for cervical screening and quality improvement o ISPs o Regional register o Planning, Funding and Outcomes Relationships with other key stakeholders are professional, positive and collaborative to facilitate and coordinate care that achieves the desired health outcome. Professional approach recognises, respects and values the roles and skills of all members of the team Key stakeholders are working together to support women to engage in the study ISPs and PHOs are supported to target priority women for whom they are responsible for, this will lead to a reduction in the inequities that currently exist. Continuous quality improvement Including Establish and monitor progress of study and ensure best practice standards are maintained at all times Support practices to follow the agreed study protocol Ensure women are tracked, monitored and supported through the continuum of the screening pathway Develop and document quality and risk assurance processes Develop and maintain key research documents Utilise Information Technology Become familiar with the Research IT system, teach any new project staff Facilitate the Research Nurse to access and utilise PHO data match lists IT systems are fit for purpose and support safe invitation, monitoring and failsafe for participating women Statutory & Treaty of Waitangi obligations Ensures the professional and political integrity of Waitemata DHB by carrying out all functions in compliance of the Treaty of Waitangi and by demonstrating a serious commitment to keeping the treaty alive.
