Chester shared some of his life experiences with the members. He talked of his early days at Saint Mary s College and the challenges for his mother to meet the school fees. About his first job at the then so called Penny Bank 1. National Bank and his early work transfer to Bank of Nova Scotia. Rot. Chester told us about his many years spent in Haiti prior to his return to Saint Lucia. During the discourse we of course also learned about goats, willpower, determination, lover for a very special lady, love of god and love for his fellow men. Rotary Club of Saint Lucia receives Presidential Citation With the achievement of the District 7030 set goals for this Rotary year and the completion of the many projects including exceptional Public Relations, a specific goal for the year 2013 13 the club received a presidential citation from DG Steve Ramroop. Here PP Tim in his capacity at ADG presents Pres. Konrad with the certificate who accepts it on behalf of all members.

Donation from Cap Maison Former Rotarian and General Manager of Cap Maison Resort and Spa, Mr. Ross Stevenson made a presentation to the Rotary Club of Saint Lucia. He presented Pres. Konrad with a cheque representing part of the auction and ticket proceeds from Cap Maison s Anniversary Party where the Rotary Calabashers performed for the delight of a large audience and PP Tim Moffat raised money in the mentioned auction. Thank you Ross and thank you Cap Maison. Update on MG78302 tree planting May 25 - June 1, 2013 Also funds are in the bank at TRF awaiting transfer to Saint Lucia. Please keep Saturday May 25, 2013 available for some fellowship and plan on helping to plant trees on Sunday May 26, 2013. According to Gamma Moses from RISE and Eleanor Maurille who are calling all over 100 primary and secondary schools on the island these schools are very receptive and almost all of them are looking forward to receiving fruit trees. A final list of schools and the number of plants will be available within 10 days to then prepare a masterplan For the days of planting all across Saint Lucia. It will be important that Rotarians participate at least 1 day in the activity to cover the length and breadth of the island. A welcome fellowship is scheduled for Saturday May 25, 2013. Look out for more details in the days and weeks ahead. Dates for Rotary Anti Drub Camp set for late August, 2013 Rot. David is finalizing arrangements with representatives from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. Plans are made to have the camp at the cadet training facility in La Toc in close cooperation with Police Officers. This will eliminate the need to pay rental for the venue and free up budgeted funds for the provision of meals and possible activities. PE Doddy Rot. David will be calling on members to assist as usual.

Tony Austin who was for many years a vital part of the Rotary Club of Saint Lucia PP Chris advised the members of some of the immediate plans relating to memorial services in Saint Lucia or elsewhere.
