CONGRATS on qualifiying for Global Finals! Get ready for the experience of a lifetime. You made it! Your team presented an awesome solution and earned a spot at Global Finals. Are you ready to share it on the global stage? Interact with and learn from other teams from all over the world From your prop storage room to the stage, you will have many opportunities to meet and interact with creative students just like you from other states, countries and cultures. Have your solutions evaluated by world-class Appraisers Expert Appraisers from around the world await your innovative solutions and the opportunity to hear about your team s creative process. Up your game by competing with 70+ teams in your Challenge and level Only the best of the best will compete in our international tournament. It s time to show them what you ve got! Participate in bigger & better Instant Challenges At Global Finals, you will put your team s quick, creative and critical thinking skills to the ultimate test with our most intense Instant Challenge of the season.

Now that my team has qualified, what happens next? Affiliate Directors notify teams. After the tournament, Affiliate Directors certify teams eligible to attend Global Finals. Those teams will receive an email within two weeks. Teams decide if they re going. Team Managers must then accept or decline their invitation to Globals Finals. Register and pay deposit. Team Managers register online and pay a $1,500 deposit. This must be done within two weeks of receipt of their certification email. Team Managers finish online registration. Team Managers are encouraged to complete registration and payment before Tuesday, May 2 11:59 PM EDT. Please go to GlobalFinals.org for cancellation policies.

Dance the night away as our DJs spin your favorite tunes Bring your dancing shoes and join us for an electrifying dance in World s Fair Park. Dueling DJs and glow sticks light up this night under the stars! Let loose and have some fun with a variety of outdoor activities Your team s first stop will be registration at the Tennessee Recreation Center for Students (TRECS). While your Team Manager is inside, let loose with a variety of outdoor activities, including swimming, volleyball, Giga Ball games, water slides, and much more.

Take your skills and knowledge to the max at our Innovation Expo The Innovation Expo inspires students by allowing them to uniquely interact with a diverse range of forward-thinking, innovative exhibitors. If your students aspire to the pinnacle of their respective future profession like an Elon Musk or a Sheryl Sandberg, the Innovation Expo will pique their curiosity through a variety of high-energy, hands-on, kid-friendly exhibits. Trade pins and meet students from more than 15 countries Pin trading is one of the most popular activities at Global Finals. It is a great way to spark conversation and meet fellow DI-ers from different states, provinces and countries. Celebrate your big week and gear up for next year s Challenges Global Finals concludes in Thompson-Boling Arena, surrounded by 17,000 new friends! In addition to the awards presentation, you will have the opportunity to see highlight reels from the week starring you and your successes, and end the week with an extraordinary light and music show.

How will my team get to Global Finals? Teams travel from all over the world to Global Finals and choose many different modes of transportation. If traveling by bus or plane, book your travel as soon as possible! Airport transfers will be made available, but must be purchased in advance through the ShopDI.org website. Where will my team stay? A mix of residence halls and hotels will be used to house teams. Teams may request to be housed with their Affiliate or in a hotel. Some large affiliates may be split between multiple housing locations, with every attempt being made to keep them close by. An Affiliate Locator will be available approximately five days before arrival. Teams requesting hotel housing will find out their housing location when they arrive at on-site registration. How will my team s props get to Global Finals? Teams may ship their props to the University of Tennessee- Knoxville. All shipped props must arrive between May 8 and May 19 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. All return shipments must be picked up by May 30. Visit GlobalFinals.org for more information on prop shipment. What if my family wants to come? Family and friends are welcome to attend as spectators. Each spectator must provide the Team Number they are affiliated with when they register for Global Finals. We encourage Spectator Event Passes to be purchased online at GlobalFinals.org, but they can also be purchased on-site at the event. Download our Global Finals 2017 app! With this content-packed app, you can view tournament schedules, keep track of your must do events and activities, find Challenge and event locations, share your experiences on social media, participate in a Scavenger Hunt, and even snap a custom selfie or two.
