President s Corner Greetings SEVONS members and Happy 2018 to you! I hope this New Year has greeted you with health and happiness thus far. First, I would like to thank our board members, past and present, for donating their time and energy to working for our chapter. With the addition of two new board members, Cheryl Ladue and Sangita Seaburg, our board is excited to hit the ground running this year! We cannot begin to thank both Donna Sternberg and Barbara Piper for their dedication to SEVONS over the years as they step down from their positions. If you can believe it, the SEVONS chapter was first founded in 1982, making 2018 our chapter s 36 th year. I bet there are still several of our members that could share some remember when stories of those good ole days! A lot has changed in 36 years, and though attendance numbers at meetings isn t the same as it was in the good ole days, the board has great ideas for a variety of activities in an attempt to meet the needs of our diverse membership. Be on the lookout for announcements regarding educational programming (including CEU events!), community opportunities, and even political activities. We want to encourage your involvement in our activities and the activities offered by ONS National. If you have a particular interest, please reach out to the board. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank each of you as well. Without you, our area would not have quality oncology nurses to care for them through their journeys. Thank YOU for your dedication to oncology nursing and CHEERS to 2018! Christine Ladd, BSN, RN, OCN Do YOU Know Our Mission, Vision & Values?
