New Meal Pattern Changes Child and Adult Meal Patterns Separates fruit and vegetable components and limits juice Requires at least one serving of a grain to be whole grain-rich Requires unflavored low-fat or fat-free milk for children ages two to five Limits sugar in yogurt to no more than 23 grams per 6 ounces Provides more protein options Adds a fourth age group (13 through 18 years) to the meal pattern for children
