10,609 Workshops 112 Conferences & Events About the role Each year Sage Gateshead has over 500,000 people come into our building, 50,000 people attend live events beyond our building and 2 million people engage with our work via digital and broadcast content. Our audience is diverse and has both a high level of new attenders each year and a core of extremely frequent attenders. We are 14 years old and have a new vision for the next phase of our life, working together with Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts and 8 other venues in NewcastleGateshead to increase cultural engagement, establish the region as a great place to be an artist and build social and economic value for the North of England. Overall purpose of the job The post holder will be a senior member of the fundraising team, who, with support from the Head of Fundraising, will manage Sage Gateshead s individual and corporate giving programmes with a focus on maximising income and lifetime value. Emphasis will be placed on fostering, developing and stewarding supportive relationships with individuals and businesses through the management and promotion of Sage Gateshead s giving programmes. This includes developing and implementing strategies for different giving propositions including: Sage Supporters Principal Partners Corporate Partners Corporate Sponsors Legacy Circle Members/Legacy Giving Visitor Giving Digital and Community Giving The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing multi-year strategies to significantly increase income and support in these areas including regular giving, legacy fundraising, lottery, appeals and digital fundraising. There will be a requirement to deliver excellent donor stewardship and lead a small team of staff and volunteers. In 2018/19 individual and corporate giving contribute towards an overall 2m capital fundraising target and almost 1m revenue target. Individual giving is on track to achieve target for 2018/19 but has significant opportunity to expand and develop further. Corporate giving has strong long-term partners but now requires new approaches to be developed, an enhanced programme of corporate events and greater emphasis placing on Sage Gateshead s own core values. Main duties and responsibilities General 1. In conjunction with the Head of Fundraising, to devise and implement comprehensive individual and corporate giving strategies to maximise income, in line with the wider Sage Gateshead Fundraising Strategy. 2. To objectively review the success and achievements against agreed targets for individual and corporate giving, identifying strengths, weaknesses and areas for development. 3. In conjunction with the Head of Fundraising, to identify opportunities for mid-level and major donor cultivation and development 4. To ensure all relevant activity is carried out in accordance with Sage Gateshead s policies and

procedures, Charity Law, HMRC (Gift Aid) and Data Protection. 5. To deliver the highest standards of customer care and represent Sage Gateshead and its stakeholders appropriately at all times. Human Resources 1. To line manage the Digital and Community Fundraising Officer and Individual Giving Officer to ensure that support is provided appropriately across the team 2. To supervise fundraising volunteers and interns as required. Fundraising 1. To manage Sage Gateshead s individual, corporate and community giving programmes in order to generate primarily unrestricted income for agreed priority areas of work. 2. To lead the development and delivery of annual stewardship plans, for Sage Supporters, Principal Partners, Appeal Donors, Lottery Supporters and Corporate Partners. 3. To develop and promote new giving programmes/opportunities and fundraising events which respond to the needs of Sage Gateshead and appeal to prospective supporters. 4. In conjunction with the Head of Fundraising and Digital and Community Fundraising Officer, lead the delivery of an integrated digital fundraising strategy. 5. In conjunction with the Head of Fundraising and Individual Giving Officer, lead the delivery of a legacy fundraising strategy. 6. In conjunction with the Front of House and Marketing Teams, to develop and deliver a strategy for increasing giving from creative learning class participants, visitors and event participants at Sage Gateshead. 7. To deliver training as required to staff and volunteers to support the promotion of visitor giving to Sage Gateshead. Marketing and Communication 1. To develop and deliver Sage Gateshead s fundraising communications strategy, including the implementation of promotional plans for individual and corporate giving programmes, public appeals and sponsorship opportunities. 2. To present Sage Gateshead s work and opportunities to support it to interested groups locally and nationally. 3. To manage the production of all supporters magazines, newsletters and other print which promotes Sage Gateshead s giving programmes. 4. To manage Sage Gateshead s online fundraising communications. Other 1. To participate in internal/external meetings and attend training events and other functions as necessary. 2. To undertake any other reasonable duty consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility.
