Statement of Need This CME conference will provide current up-to-date advances in maternal, fetal and neonatal medicine. The faculty will present a variety of topics through lectures, panel presentations and case-based discussions. Topics will include prevention of prematurity, perinatal mental health, maternal mortality reduction, neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, bioethical issues in perinatal medicine, optimal timing for induction, and medico-legal issues in perinatology. Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Evaluate pregnant and postpartum women for mood disorders or depression and treat or refer appropriately. Develop strategies for preventing or decreasing maternal morbidity and mortality using appropriate toolkits and maternal safety bundles. Develop appropriate skills to educate and counsel pregnant patients on the risks and benefits of labor induction at 39 weeks. Integrate current principles of biomedical ethics and law into the care of pregnant and neonatal patients.
