School Community Newsletter Newsletter No. Date 1/4/16 Mungy Practice 11.45-1.40pm HI All, As the Interschool Athletics Carnival fast approaches, the final touches are being made to the preparations. I look forward to fine weather for the day with lots of goodwill and participation in the spirit of the event. We have Munglinup attending our school this afternoon for final practices which should be exciting. 4/4/16 Interschool Sports Day at Cascade 7/4/16 Assembly 2.15pm Next week on Thursday afternoon we will hold our first assembly for the year with Miss Collins s Junior room as the presenters. Starting time will be 2.15pm and we look forward to seeing you all in attendance. I m sure the item will be very entertaining! I would also like to give notice of the date of the Anzac Day assembly to be held in the first week of next term on Thursday the 28th of April. Starting time will be 10.30am and we will have a late recess on that day. Don t forget that Term Two commences on Tuesday the 26th of April. I would like to once again thank all of you for your support and commitment you have shown to your school in my first term here. It has been greatly appreciated. Department of Aboriginal Affairs Heritage Grants are currently open The Department of Aboriginal Affairs (DAA) is offering Aboriginal not-forprofit organisations the opportunity to apply for grants to preserve and promote Aboriginal Sites (Sites) as defined in the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972. The total amount on offer in the first instance is $146,000. Incorporated organisations registered for GST can apply for a maximum of $50,000 (including GST) per application. Unincorporated groups and organisations not GST registered can only apply for a maximum of $15,000 per application. Applicants may submit as many applications as they wish. It is anticipated that a diverse range of projects across Western Australia will be awarded a grant. Applications can only be made by submitting the Preserving our Aboriginal Sites Grants Program Application Form. The application process will be open for two months and applications will be considered as they are received. The closing date and time for applications to be received by DAA is 4pm Monday 4 April 2016 (Perth, Western Australia).
