Welcome Home! Welcome to your Connecticut College Orientation! The Orientation program will introduce you to the core principles that govern how we learn and live together as a community. Throughout the next four years, you will make connections with different students, faculty, and staff members here on campus that will help you grow and expand your knowledge about yourself and the world around you. This knowledge will enable you to make connections across the different aspects of your academic and extracurricular life both on and off campus. After graduating from Conn with a major in Chemistry, she went on to receive her Ph.D. and ultimately work in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, receiving the USDA s Distinguished Service Medal. The donor hopes you will enjoy the festivities this week named in her honor.

Convocation is celebrated on Tempel Green, the very center of our campus, and will include a procession of faculty, class officers and all first-year students. Sunil Bhatia, Associate Professor of Human Development, will deliver the keynote address, Finding Magical Doors: Notes on Borders, Race and Belonging. Following the ceremony, the campus community is invited to the Convocation Picnic on Chapel Green. Available Now & Online Placement Tests, Information Sessions and Auditions Placement tests and auditions are scheduled over an extended period of time so that you may take more than one. They are important if you intend to continue in any of these areas at any time over the next four years. All levels of ability are encouraged to participate. If you miss a session, please contact the chair of the department offering the tests or auditions. French Hispanic Studies For students who have not taken the SAT exam in French or do not have an AP score of 4 or 5: Online Placement Test (Transparent Language): Go to: http://www.transparent.com/learnfrench/proficiency-test.html for an online proficiency test. Camel Heard Audition Requirements: For Camel Heard, please prepare an unaccompanied classical solo of your choosing that is one minute in length. Please also prepare your voice part of the following arrangement of The Star-Spangled Banner (pay attention to this version s rhythms and notes).
