April 2017, Volume 5 Activities of BGIT in 2016-17 KSHITIJ BGIT celebrates its annual cultural and sports event called KSHITIJ. KSHITIJ is organized by BGIT to kindle and rejuvenate the creative instincts of the students. KSHITIJ is a platform for all the students to portray their talents in various fields of fine arts like Dance, Drama,Singing, Mehendi, Rangoli, Debate, Ad-Mad Show, One Minute Show, Dumb Charades, Antakshari, Cartoon Sketching, Essay writing in Hindi, English and Marathi, Love Letter Writing as well as, in various sports like Cricket, Football, Carom, Chess, Counterstrike, Treasure Hunt etc. Network Gaming was introduced as a new event in 2006 and is very popular ever since. The Think Quest Competition is open to all students of Polytechnics across Maharashtra. The objective of this venture is to arouse the latent instinct of creativity and innovation of budding Inaugration ceremony of Thinkquest 2017 Paper Presentation technocrats by offering them the appropriate launch pad. ThinkQuest aims to promote this facet by inviting participants to explore topics, collectively to achieve goals and develop interesting hardware and software that add meaningful content to today s technology. Activities of BGIT in 2016-17 Faculty Development Program INTRODUCTION TO LINUX AND ALLIED TECHNOLOGY 23 rd January 2017 to 28 th January 2017 We Maratha Mandir s Babasaheb Gawde Institute always tried to continuous progress in all spheres of academic activities in general and quality education in particular. The spectacular success story of the students in the area of final board examination in all branches year after year bears ample evidence to our claims. We here executed our faculty development program successfully where people from all over the maharashtra had participated for this training called Introduction to Linux and Allied Technology. We started our preparation in the month of December 16 and started apporaching people via calls and emails. Faculty members from various polytechnic of Maharashtra had shown positive response and nominated their name for the program. Chief Guest Dr. Vinod Mohitkar and trainer Mr. Gaurav Vaswani and Mr. Likesh Kohle arrived for the inauguration at registration desk.

Electronics and Telecommunication department of Maratha Mandir s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Technology inaugurated Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Students Forum (ISF) on 20th August 2016 at 11.00 am in the institute by the hands of Shri S.C. Khasgiwal, Vice President of IETE west zone. The department arranged the Project development workshop in association with Electromaniac Consultancy for the third year diploma ISF members and PCB Design workshop for second year diploma ISF members of the institute under the patronage of IETE. Mr. Santosh Kamble was the resource person for PCB design and demonstrated the design.

They recognized the need of the hour and setup strong institution to educate the populace, to make them aware of the rights as well as what they can be and what they can do for the nation. It was thus decided that the institution of Maratha Mandir would be open to everyone irrespective of his or her religion, caste, and language. The founders named this institution as Maratha Mandir the word Maratha to mean all those who consider Maharashtra as their domicile and the word Mandir to signify the purity in human life. BABASAHEB GAWDE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY was founded in 1997 with two branches and within a short span of a DECADE it has grown in leaps and bounds.
