4 Battalion Level CoIST Training The ability to train five echelons, from the Fire Team to the Battalion Staff in one exercise. Battalion Level Training Integration of VBS2 and JCATS Battalion Level Full staff conducting Current and Future Operations Using Battle Command Systems Conducting both Lethal and Non-Lethal Operations Sister units operating on the right and left in JCATS Management of Replicated ISR assets Company Level 2 full Companies maneuvering in VBS2 with a 3 rd in JCATS Platoon Level Up to 8 platoons maneuvering at one time Up to 250 individual Soldiers in simulation at one time

5 Constructive and Gaming Virtual Battle Space 2 (VBS2): The system allows units, Company sized and below, to train in a virtual environment in which they can train on an array of missions to include: React to contact (SAF), IED, Complex Attack, MOUT training, Raids and Clearing Ops, Combat Logistics Patrols & CASEVAC. **** AAR Enabled*** JCATS Simulation Exercises: A computer-based conflict simulation used for training (individuals, staffs, command elements) & mission rehearsal (coordination and timing) Integration between VBS2, JCATS, FBCB2, CPOF 5

10 CoIST Scenario GERESHK Fighter Cell Najibullah Karim All fighters believed to live in the near vicinity of Gereshk ~10-15 Fighters Conducts DA Attacks and IDF Attacks Brigade Fusion cell has gathered some intelligence regarding an additional insurgent group that may want to surrender to ANSF/ISAF similar to Hadji Kaduz. The Brigade has tasked XXX Battalion to confirm or deny this intelligence report. XXX Battalion has tasked (D, E, F, HHC) Company to meet with a source that can confirm or deny the validity of the Brigade s intelligence since it is in there AO. XX Company tasks X Platoon to meet with a source, Hamid Malik, to confirm this idea. The source has a credibility rating of C (average). Insurgent Cell Leader: Najibullah Karim Cell Size: fighters Responsible for attacks in the past, no known DA attacks during the last eight months.
