The West Virginia National Guard, in association with the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN) and Corporate America Supports You (CASY) now has a single website that provides Service Members and their Families access to a single comprehensive list of every job posting in West Virginia. Once you register, both you and your spouse can search for jobs, request assistance with writing resume s and cover letters, and have additional job opportunities ed to you based on the field you are interested in. In addition to these resources, someone will be contacting you within 48 hours of registering to provide you assistance in your search or to answer any questions you may have. Guard Ready is the resiliency resource for National Guard members and their families. This app was created to connect you to important local resources, such as your Psychological Health Coordinator, Family Assistance Specialists (FAS) or Chaplain. 6 HOLIDAY SAFETY What safety tips should West Virginians follow when using consumer fireworks, sparklers and/or sparkling devices? According to the American Pyrotechnics Association, safety tips include: Store fireworks in a cool, dry place Always read and follow the directions on the label Always have an adult present when handling fireworks Never give fireworks to young children, even sparklers! Use fireworks outdoors in a safe, non-wooden area Have a working garden hose or bucket of water handy Keep everyone a safe distance away from fireworks Light only one firework at a time Never re-ignite a firework that doesn t light the first time or one that has finished its display Never carry fireworks in your pocket Don t throw fireworks at another person Keep pets indoors and away from fireworks Never shoot fireworks in metal or glass containers Keep spectators at a safe distance Always wear safety glasses when igniting fireworks RED CROSS To make a donation through the Red Cross, visit or call redcross and designate donations to the West Virginia Flood. 7 TRICARE Pharmacy Copay TRICARE New Urgent Care Pilot Program February 1, 2016: The TRICARE pharmacy copays are going up as outlined in the National Defense Authorization Act for FY Here are the new copays starting February 1, 2016: Retail 30-day Supply Generic: $10 Brand Name: $24 Non-formulary: $50 Military Pharmacy 90-day supply No changes to military pharmacy copays Sign up for TRICARE updates at Toney is available from 8am-11pm 365 days /year New Urgent Care Pilot Program for Prime Beneficiaries April 13, 2016 To increase access to care, the Department of Defense is launching an Urgent Care Pilot Program for TRICARE Prime beneficiaries. This program allows Prime enrollees two visits to a network or TRICARE authorized provider without a referral or prior authorization. The Urgent Care Pilot Program, scheduled to begin spring 2016, is for: * Active Duty Family Members (ADFMs) enrolled in TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Prime Remote * Retirees and their family members who are enrolled in Prime within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia * ADSMs enrolled in TRICARE Prime Remote and stationed overseas but traveling stateside Read the full article here: Sign up for TRICARE updates at Connect with TRICARE on Facebook,Twitter and Google Plus at: Make Sure Your Military Children have access to Care If you have a new baby or have adopted a child, take the necessary steps to give your child access to health care when and before they need it. Step one: Register your child, newborn or adoptee, in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). You don't have to wait the 2-6 months it may take for a formal state department birth certificate. Step two: Enroll your child in to Prime Remote if you decide Prime Remote is best for your family. You must take an additional step to enroll your child, it is not automatic. 9 VETERAN RESOURCES Supportive Services for Veterans Families The SSVF Program is designed to improve the housing stability of very low-income Veteran families, by assisting families transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing and preventing at-risk families from becoming homeless. Occupying permanent housing in one of three categories: Residing in permanent housing, homeless and scheduled to become a resident of permanent housing within 90 days, or has exited permanent housing within the previous 90 days to seek other housing that is responsive to the very-low income Veteran family s needs and preferences. The Center s staff provides homeless Veterans and those at risk for homelessness with job assistance, counseling, housing referrals and laundry and shower facilities.
