Will monitor and document expenditures and other needs pertaining to the operation of the facility. The incumbent in this position supervises the Lead Correctional Officer and Correctional Officers at the Pine Ridge Correctional Facility. The incumbent will work closely with the Captain of Corrections on Department Budge matters and is under the terms of the Department's personnel policies and procedures as approved by the Oglala Sioux Department of Public Safety. The incumbent's primary duties and responsibilities are to ensure the correctional matters are addressed at the Pine Ridge Correctional Facility. Incumbent will ensure that all tribal laws and facility policies are enforced as applicable, all federal laws are enforced and all employees adhere to established rules and regulations. Incumbent shall work closely with the Captain of Corrections and the Department's Chief Finance Officer to ensure that his/her assigned facility budget needs is addressed and they stay within their allowed budget.

2 Incumbent shall evaluate his/her assigned facility funds as needed to ensure that they stay within the budget. Incumbent shall conduct objective investigations into all allegations reported by any individual on employees or inmates of the Pine Ridge Correctional Facility. Incumbent shall meet with the individuals filing the alleged allegations during the investigation and after the investigation is complete. SPECIFIC DUTIES: 1. Must be willing to assume the duties of a Correctional Officer when needed. 2. Will complete shift schedules for staff, complete monthly reports, document and file monthly expenditures. 3. Will insure the upkeep of the facility, administer disciplinary action when needed, update and review the facility policy and procedures and training manual yearly 4. Will review daily logs, arrange for detention staff to receive proper training I 5. Will implement inmate work plans; complete an investigation of all incidents that occur at the facility. 6. Will ensure that all inmates case files are secured and updated, ensure that all inmates receive medical attention when required. 7. Will develop a positive working relationship between the facility and all entities that exist. 8. Will be assigning duties to detention officers when needed 9. Will refer staff to EAP when needed. 10. Will order supplies and follow department procedures for ordering. 11. Will adhere to the department's policy when utilizing budget expenditure. 12. Will possess knowledge of the tribal penal code, facility, policy and procedures manual, training requirements, complete cash bond process. 13. Will complete the Supervisory Detention officers Program administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs 14. Will be willing to complete other duties assigned by the Captain of Detentions.

3 15. Maybe subjected to unannounced drug testing. 8. Upon hiring, the Incumbent is required to take an Alcohol and Drug test. 16. Must be willing to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism. 17. Must maintain a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Shall be a high school graduate or possess an equivalent GED Certificate 2. AA Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred 3. Must have a minimum of 4 years of Detention Officer experience with the intent of acquiring an A.A. degree in the Criminal Justice Field. 4. Must have knowledge of inmate rights, Indian Civil Rights Act, Mandatory Standards for Detention Facilities in Indian Country and the ability to manage people. 5. Must have high Moral Standards, be emotionally stable and ability to pass c physical exam submitted by the Department. 6. If claiming Indian Preference, must have proof of tribal membership and Bi Lingual in the Lakota Language is preferred 7. No misdemeanor arrests or convictions in the past year and must have neve] been convicted of a felony crime.
