MAJ Taylor will fill a requirement against Headquarters, Department of the Army. MAJ Taylor is projected to report to the Continental United States Replacement Center, Fort Bliss, Texas on January 19, 2018 and is expected to complete 400 days of service. 2 January 5, 2018 RE: Request for Military Leave Pursuant to Utah Code 20A North Ogden City Council 505 East 2600 North North Ogden, UT Dear City Council Members, I have received notification that it is projected I will deploy to Afghanistan with the United States Army later this month. Please see memorandum from US Army Forces Command. Formal mobilization orders are expected to follow next week. It is anticipated that I will serve for a period of 400 days. I request a military leave of absence from my elected office as Mayor beginning on the date of my mobilization orders. Serving the people of North Ogden as Mayor has been the highest honor and privilege of my civilian professional life, and I sincerely look forward to returning in early 2019 to continue serving the remainder of my elected term. In the meantime, I am confident that the city will be in excellent hands, and that a capable and effective temporary Mayor will be appointed in my absence. We have a phenomenal team of department heads and city employees and a full slate of important projects and initiatives for 2018 that are already well underway or in the planning stages. I will ensure that all necessary information and coordination is made in order for the forthcoming temporary Mayor to assume effective executive leadership of the city.
