1 FORT SILL ARTILLERY OFFICER CANDIDATE SCHOOL HALL OF FAME NOMINATION PACKET Graduates of the Officer Candidate School at Fort Sill are proud of their heritage and the fraternal spirit that exalts among Artillerymen around the world. The Officer Candidate Schools that were first established in 1941 continue to play a significant part in that history. The Fort Sill Artillery Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame was established in 1968 to honor the heroism and exceptional achievement of its graduates. It recognizes the outstanding contributions of those officers and Artillerymen commissioned from other Officer Candidate School programs. Any individual may nominate a graduate of the following: 1. The Officer Candidate School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma ( ). 2. The Antiaircraft Artillery Officer Candidate School, Camp Davis, North Carolina ( ). The individual must have been commissioned Coast Artillery and served in an 3. The Seacoast Artillery Officer Candidate School, Fort Monroe, Virginia ( ). The individual must have been commissioned Coast Artillery and served in an Artillery assignment after graduation. 4. The Army Officer Candidate School (AOCS) at Fort Benning, Georgia ( ). The individual must have been commissioned in an Artillery branch, completed an Artillery branch officer basic course and served in an 5. The Ground General School Army Officer Candidate (AOC) Course, Fort Riley, Kansas ( ). The individual must have been commissioned in an Artillery branch, completed an Artillery branch officer basic course, and served in an Artillery assignment after graduation. 6. The Antiaircraft Artillery Officer Candidate School, Fort Bliss, Texas ( ). The individual must have been commissioned in an Artillery branch, and served in an 7. 2 The nominee must meet one of these requirements for consideration: 1. Is the recipient of the Medal of Honor or the Distinguished Service Cross. 2. Attained the rank of Colonel or (O-6) or Captain (O-6 for Navy/Coast Guard) while serving on active duty or with a Reserve Component of the Armed Forces. 3. Has been appointed or elected to an office of national prominence in the National or State government. 4. Has rendered outstanding service to the nation, community or profession. In order to process the nomination, two copies of the completed biographical sketch form and an 8"x10" color or black and white photograph are required. The photograph should be in Class A uniform of last rank achieved, if possible. Military biographical information in another format may be submitted as an attachment, in lieu of filling out the entire Summary of Military Service portion of the form. Additional supporting material regarding military or civilian career accomplishments may also be included. Part II of the form (or appropriate attachments) must be completed for nominations in the National Prominence or the Outstanding Service to Nation, Community or Profession categories. Please provide as much information as possible, so a fair evaluation of the exceptional achievements and contributions of the nominee can be made. The Hall of Fame Nominating Committee, consisting of the Artillery OCS Alumni Chapter President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, recommends qualified applicants for induction to the Commander, 428th Field Artillery Brigade for his endorsement. The final approving authority is the Commandant of the United States Army Field Artillery School. Nominations in the category of outstanding service to the nation, community or profession are subject to an initial evaluation by the Nominating Committee. The Committee provides its recommendation for review by the entire Board of Directors before forwarding the packet to the Commander, 428th Field Artillery Brigade. Nominations are being accepted for the 2018 Artillery OCS Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to be held in conjunction with the 34th annual OCS Alumni Reunion.
