5 CEREMONY OPENING (1500hrs / 3:00PM) Actor Instructions and Lines: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the 2016 Joint Services Command, Pass-in-Review. I am Cadet Technical Sergeant Britney Ulloa, the Joint Services Command and your master of ceremonies for this afternoon s events. Today s ceremony represents the culmination of the hard work and dedication put in this year by the cadets of the CA Cadet Operations Group and the 226th Cadet Battalion. As a reminder, civilians should stand and put their hand over their hearts during all of the following conditions: while the playing our national anthem, when our nation s colors are passing the reviewing stand, and when the colors are being retired. Today s ceremony is the final leadership opportunity of the school year for the cadets to demonstrate the self-discipline they all have learned. For the Air Force JROTC, they have strived to be to be citizens of character, dedicated to serving their nation and communities they have done this by incorporating the United States Core Values of Integrity First, Service before Self, and excellence in all we do. As for the California Cadet Corps, they have worked hard all year to emulate the acronym: LEADERSHIP. In other words, they have learned the importance of Loyalty, Education, Ambition, Duty, Enthusiasm, Respect, Service, Health, Integrity, and Personal courage. Today s reviewing officer is the Air Force JROTC Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for the California program, Lieutenant Colonel Smith,. (SASI stands and waves to the audience.) Wait for SASI to sit back down, then say: He will be assisted today by Staff Officer from State headquarters of the California Cadet Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Baxter. (Lt Col Baxter stands and waves to the audience) Wait for Lt Col Baxter sit back down, then say: And Commandant, Two hundred and twenty-sixth Battalion,7 th Brigade of the California Cadet Corps, Command Sergeant Major Arbogast (CSM Arbogast stands and waves to the audience) Page 5 of 18

Perform an About face then command: "Parade, (pause for relay) REST" (Wait for squadrons(companies) to go to parade rest then face about to face reviewing stand and go to parade rest) After Group(Battalion) commander's preparatory command, "Parade", turn head to the right and relay supplement command: "Parade" Sound Group(Battalion) Commander Squadron(Company) Commanders Command: In Place, SOUND OFF. Play Music Track 2: Sound Off 3 chords of Sound Off, introduction to a march, repeat 3 chords of Sound Off PAY RESPECT TO THE FLAG At completion of music, directs: "GIVE YOUR UNITS ATTENTION" Come to attention, face about and command: "Group(Battalion), (pause for relay) ATTENTION" (Wait for Squadrons(Companies) to come to attention and then face about to face reviewing stand at Attention) After Group (Battalion) commander's preparatory command, "Group (Battalion)", turn head to the right and relay supplement command: "Squadron (Company)" Group(Battalion)Commanders Squadron(Company) Commanders At Positon of Attention, Direct: "GIVE YOUR UNITS PRESENT ARMS" Face about and command: "Present, (pause for relay) ARMS" (Wait for Squadrons(Companies) to salute and then face about to face reviewing stand and salute) After Group(Battalion) commander's preparatory command, "Present", turn head to the right and echo supplement command: "Present" After all cadets have presented arms, face about, salute, and report: "MA AM THE PARADE IS FORMED" The parade is now formed Page 7 of 18

8 Color Guard Sound Color Guard Group(Battalion) Commanders Squadron(Company) Commanders Return salute and command: "TAKE YOUR POST. After has returned to his/her post with command staff, command: Color Guard, Present, COLORS then command: Staff, Present, ARMS. As the Color Guard marches forward, say: Ladies and Gentlemen, please rise for the playing of our National Anthem. As marches to post with command staff, Color Guard commander will give appropriate commands to march detail to center of parade ground, halt, and then Present Arms. Wait for Color Guard to move forward and Present Arms, then: Play Music Track 3: National Anthem (Star Spangled Banner) Color Guard commander will give appropriate commands to Order Arms, Face about, march detail back to the final line and face about to face parade stands. (After Color Guard returns to original post) Ladies and Gentlemen, please be seated. Command: "Staff, Order, ARMS." FORMATION OF PARADE Command: "GIVE YOUR UNITS ORDER ARMS" Execute order arms, about face, "Order, (pause for relay) ARMS" About face to face reviewing stand after entire Group (Battalion) has ordered arms. After Group(Company) commander's preparatory command, "Order", turn head to the right and echo supplement command: "Order" Directs the adjutant: "RECEIVE THE REPORT" The will now receive a report from each unit commander to ensure all members of their respective units are present or accounted for." He (She) will then publish the orders for the day. Move to former position retracing the previous procedures and command: "REPORT" Page 8 of 18

Hold salute until adjutant returns it. Sequentially from adjutant's left to right, salute and report: "CADET BATTALION, ALL PRESENT OR ACCOUNTED FOR, SIR (MA AM). Hold salute until adjutant returns it. Face about, salute, and report: "Ma am, ALL PRESENT OR ACCOUNTED FOR". Return salute and command: "PUBLISH THE ORDERS" Drop salute, face about, and report: "ATTENTION TO ORDERS, DETAIL FOR THE DAY, CA- DET OFFICER OF THE DAY, CADET COLONEL FUENTES BY ORDER OF LIEUTENANT COLONEL SMITH." Key personnel from the joint services command will now come forward for the Officers March. OFFICERS' CENTER After publishing the orders, and narrator comments command: "OFFICERS," (pause for officers to position themselves) "CEN- TER", (pause for a 4-count) "MARCH." (Face about and take position one pace to the right and one and a half paces to the rear of JSC/CC.) After preparatory command, "CENTER", count to 3 then: Play Music Track 4: Officer's Center 1. As officer detail approaches JSC commander, incrementally lower volume. 2. As officer detail returns to their posts, incrementally raise volume. 3. End music with fade out when all members of detail have returned to posts. On command "OFFICERS", stand fast. On command "OFFICERS", take three steps forward. On command OFFICERS, execute carry Guidon. On command "CENTER", face the center. On command "MARCH", step off to begin march to center. Page 9 of 18

10 First Sergeants Group (Battalion) Commanders, (AFJROTC, CACC) Squadron(Company) Commanders Guidon Bearers Group Commander First Sergeants Group Commander & (Guidon Bearer & Officer Detail notes) Officers, Guidon Bearers, & First Sergeants First Sergeants Group Commander On command "OFFICERS", take one step back with coordinated arm swing; On command "CENTER" face toward the colors; On command "MARCH", move by most direct route to a position abreast of 1st rank (element leaders). Note: March alongside the flank nearest to the colors. Upon arriving at center, halt and simultaneously face reviewing stand. Upon arriving at center, align at normal interval, halt and face reviewing stand simultaneously.(f Sq./CC with A Co./CC) and (E Sq./CC with B Co/CC) Upon arriving at center: 1. F Guide center between A Co/CC and F Sq/CC and face reviewing stand 2. Battalion Guide center between A and B Co/CC 3. E Guide center between E and F Sq/CC 4. Battalion and E Guide face reviewing stand simultaneously. When all officers are at the center and facing the reviewing stand, turn head to the left, command: "Forward, MARCH" (loud enough for all officers to hear over the music using parade cadence - three count between commands) Move by most direct route to Squadron/CC's position on command "MARCH" Prior to being six paces from the JSC/CC, Command: "Officers," (Guidons go up) "HALT" (Guidon bearer executes present Guidon; officers present arms). Note: Officers and Guidon bearers halt in 3 counts including the salute. Return salute and command: Order, (Guidons go up) ARMS, (Pause)... Officers, (Guidons to carry Guidon) POST (Pause for officers, Guidon bearers, and first sergeants, to face about) MARCH. On command, POST, face about to return to original posts On command, MARCH, return to previous position. When Guidon bearers are six paces from final line, command: Officers, HALT, (pause) POST. Pause for officers and Guidons to face left or right as appropriate. MARCH Page 10 of 18

Step off individually, the first person on MARCH followed by the next person on the third step of the first, and so forth, flank toward their respective positions and halt, resuming positions facing the reviewing stand. On command MARCH, step off and return to original post and face to reviewing stand On command MARCH, perform the following sequence: 1. Pair in outer flanks (E Sq./&B Co.): step off and begin march to original posts 2. Middle pairs (F Sq. & A Co.): wait for previous pair to take two steps then step off on the third step and begin march to original post 3. Squadron Commanders: march until in line with post, flank towards post, then halt and perform about face to face reviewing stand. 1. (E Guide and A Guide) Step off and begin march to original post 2. (F Guide) Wait for previous pair to take two steps then step off on the third step and begin march to original post 3. (All Guides) After returning to original post, halt, and face reviewing stand. PRESENTATION OF COMMAND Group(Battalion) Commanders Give informational command: GIVE YOUR UNITS PRESENT ARMS Face about and, in succession from Group to Color Guard to Battalion, command: Present, (pause for echo commands) ARMS Face about and present arms Squadron(Company) Commanders After Group(Battalion) commander's preparatory command, "Present", turn head to the right and echo supplement command: "Present" When Unit/CCs have executed present arms, JSC/CC gives staff command: Change Post, MARCH. (with Staff Officers following commands) After command, MARCH, officers take three steps forward, halt, face about and present arms. This is a seven-count sequence. The JSC/CC, faces reviewing officer then states: SIR, I PRESENT THE COMMAND. Page 11 of 18

12 Reviewing Officer Return salute and direct: MARCH THE COMMAND IN REVIEW PASS IN REVIEW We will now conduct the pass-in-review. The pass-in-review is time-honored tradition which allows the members of a command to pay respect to their commanding officer, while allowing the commanding officer to inspect his troops. Drop salute and command: Staff, Order, ARMS. Turn to the right and command: Change Post, MARCH. JSC/CC with staff officers take three steps forward, halt and face about. This is a six-count sequence. JSC/CC gives informational command: "GIVE YOUR UNITS ORDER ARMS" Group(Company) Commanders Squadron Commanders Execute order arms, face about and command: "Order, (pause for echo commands) ARMS" Face about After Group(Battalion) commander's preparatory command, "Order", turn head to the right and echo supplement command: "Order" Command: PASS IN REVIEW On the first note of the music, begin march toward the line of march After commands, "PASS IN REVIEW", Sound Group(Battalion) Commanders Squadron(Company) Commanders Play Music Track 5: 2-4 Drum Cadence_mod1_6:30 IPOD in crossfade mode; let 2-4 Drum Cadence_mod1_6:30 (Track 5) Play immediately after until all marching has ceased In order from right to left, Group(Battalion) Commander command: Column of Squadrons (Companies), Right Squadron (Company), Column Right, MARCH. On the command Right Squadron (Company), Squadron (Company) commanders face about. On the command Column Right, each squadron(company) commander supplements as appropriate with either of the following commands: Column Right or Stand Fast. Page 12 of 18

13 Squadron(company) commanders standing fast will wait for the preceding flight to march on to parade path (12 paces away) and command: Column Right, MARCH. Squadron (Company) commanders will maintain 12 pace spacing from the preceding flight(platoon). Flight Commanders(Platoon Leaders) Flight commanders(platoon leaders) will maintain 6 paces from the squadron(company) commander As marching begins, say: The leadership of the CA Cadet Operations Group and the 226 th Cadet Battalion rotates each year, allowing the cadets to compete for leadership positions that will help them to become citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. Squadron(Company) Commanders At each change of direction, each Squadron(Company) commander turns and faces the formation and commands: Column Left, MARCH. March backwards until the turn is completed then command: Forward MARCH Return to normal direction. Wait for JS commander and staff officers to approach on final route. As JS commander marches by say: Joint Services Commander, Cadet Colonel Fuentes with Cadet Sergeant 1 st Class Gomez, and Cadet Senior Airman Quintanilla Wait for JS commander and staff officers to Pass Reviewing Stand then say: Next up is the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadet Operations Group. As CA Deputy Group commander marches by, say: The CA Cadet Operations Group led by deputy group commander, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Becerra. Wait for Deputy Group commander to Pass Reviewing Stand then say: Next up is Eagle Squadron Page 13 of 18

14 As Eagle Squadron commander marches by, say: Eagle Squadron, led by Cadet Major Fimbres. Eagle is comprised of: Alpha flight commanded by Cadet Technical Sergeant Morgan, Bravo flight commanded by Cadet Staff Sergeant Evora, and Charlie flight commanded by Cadet Senior Airman De Los Santos." Wait for Eagle Squadron to Pass Reviewing Stand then say: Next up is Falcon Squadron As Falcon Squadron commander marches by, say: Falcon Squadron, led by Cadet 2 nd Lieutenant Rico. Falcon is comprised of: Delta flight commanded by Cadet Technical Sergeant Lopez, Echo flight commanded by Cadet Senior Airman Quintanilla, and Foxtrot flight commanded by Cadet Master Sergeant Belviz. Wait for Falcon Squadron to Pass Reviewing Stand then say: Next up is the Color Guard. Will everyone please rise as our nation s colors pass the reviewing stand. As a reminder, place your hand over your heart if you are not in uniform. Uniformed members will render the proper salute. As Color Guard detail marches by, say: The Color Guard, commanded by Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Malolos Wait for Color Guard to Pass Reviewing Stand then say: Thank you. You may be seated. Next up is the California Cadet Corp Battalion. As CACC Battalion commander marches by, say: The 226th Cadet Battalion, led by Battalion commander, Cadet 2 nd Lieutenant Hernandez. Wait for Battalion Commander to Pass Reviewing Stand then say: Next up is Alpha Company. As Alpha Company commander marches by, say: Alpha Company, led by Cadet Sergeant Bulux. Alpha is comprised of, 1 st platoon commanded by Cadet 1 st Class Gardener and 2 nd platoon commanded by Cadet First Class Espino. Wait for Alpha Company to Pass Reviewing Stand then say: And finally up, Bravo Company. As Bravo Company commander marches by, say: Bravo Company, led by Cadet Corporal Fimbres. Bravo is comprised of 1st platoon commanded by Cadet Corporal Acosta and 2 nd platoon commanded by Cadet Candelario. Page 14 of 18

15 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS DURING PASS IN REVIEW Marches staff (column lefts or left wheels) to join the line of march after second column left approximately 12 paces in front of the group commander. Six paces before the reviewing stand turn head to the right and command: Eyes, RIGHT. Group staff turns head and salute. Six paces beyond reviewing stand, command: Ready, FRONT March staff back to their original position after the next column left On command, RIGHT, turn head to right and salute Staff Officers All except and Staff Group (Battalion) Commanders On command, FRONT, return head forward and drop salute JSC Commander (and staff) Return to starting position. As colors are passing reviewing officer, face flag and salute. After, perform about face and face away from the review stand. After turning on to the Line of March (2 nd Column Left), bring your formation to a halt and wait for your formation s announcement. Once announced, Command: Forward (pause for relay if you are a Group or Company) MARCH. This will set you up for your Eyes Right. At six paces beyond reviewing stand, execute Ready Front without command. Six paces from reviewing stand, turn head and eyes to the right and command: Eyes, RIGHT, and salute. Squadron Commanders When last squadron(company) member is six paces beyond the reviewing stand, command: Ready, FRONT. Guidon Bearers Reviewing Officer Execute present arms by raising guidon on command Eyes and extending it on RIGHT. On the command Ready, raise guidon, and on FRONT, bring to carry guidon. Returns salute of JSC/CC, Unit/CCs, Squadron (Company)/CCs, and holds salute as colors pass in review. Group(Battalion) Commander: Return to position at start of pass in review and face the group (battalion) as you wait for all squadrons (companies) to return to the starting area. As each squadron(company) returns to starting area, each Squadron(Company) commander will command: Mark Time, MARCH, until squadron(company) re-establishes DCID then command: Eagle (Falcon) (Alpha) (Bravo) HALT (face about and wait for Group (Battalion) commander to give next command.) Unit Commanders, Squadron Commander, Guidon Bearers, and First Sergeants Once all squadrons(companies) return to start area, Group(Battalion) commander will command: Left, FACE, Group (Battalion) commander will then face the reviewing stand. Squadron (company) members will face left toward the reviewing stand. Squadron (Company) commanders will move 6 paces forward of the squadron (company) and move to the center of the squadron (company), which is now in line formation, and face the reviewing stand.
