My goal is to complete my PhD to conduct research pertaining to international women s health, health messaging, and its connection to the Zika virus epidemic in Brazil. Future career goals include pursuing my passion of teaching at a university level as well as exploring research pertaining to the intersection of gender and disease vulnerability. QUALIFICATIONS An M.P.H. Degree in Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences, as well as a B.A. in Health, Behavior, and Society. Currently completing a PhD in Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences. Strong background in qualitative research, epidemiological skills, rapid assessments, survey instrument development, grant writing, and program evaluation. Collected qualitative and quantitative research pertaining to this health delivery system. Analyzed the hospital s exemplary use of humanized health care. Examined the hospital s adaptation of the Stork Network Birthing Model. MPH Practicum, The Stork Network and Women s Obstetric Care, Brasilia, Brazil January August 2015 Inspected the issue of hyper-medicalization of women s health care throughout Brazil. Assisted with and attended regular planning meetings with the Stork Network. Scheduled and completed active site visits at several birthing centers throughout Brazil Conducted interviews with medical and public health officials, activists, and expectant mothers. Evaluated the progress of the Stork Network intervention over its five year period. Research Assistant, Women s Health in Louisiana Prisons, New Orleans, LA August December 2014 Compiled a literature review to develop an analysis of the health of incarcerated women in Louisiana. Inspected previously collected data and generated a statistical summary of the findings. Catalogued data for further examination by department heads. 3

4 Project Developer, Grassroots Soccer League, Rochester, NY January August 2014 Assisted with the organization and development of a soccer league for young girls within the most economically disadvantaged area in Rochester, NY. Developed both academic and physical tasks that assisted in improving literacy, community wellness and fitness among participants. Created and coordinated a volunteer program between University of Rochester students and several community organizations in order to foster reciprocity. B.A. Thesis, Psychiatric Care in Patients with Co-occurring Disorders, Rochester, NY January September 2013 Researched the methods used to assist patients suffering from both psychiatric illnesses and substance abuse. Examined the various techniques and approaches to diagnosing and treating patients. Interviewed 28 patients pertaining to their past experiences and current treatment. Compiled an ethnographic summary of my research and findings. Program Developer, Domestic Violence Intervention Program, Rochester, NY May May 2013 Developed a program to combat high rates of domestic violence within Rochester. Remodeled the YMCA program in use at that time, to a model incorporating more social support and a strong educational component.
