1 BOARD MEETING AGENDA January 17-19, 2018 Springhill Suites Marriott 2989 Paradise Road Las Vegas, NV The Board meeting will commence at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018; continuing at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 and Friday, January 19, 2018; until all Board business is completed. Items on the agenda may be taken out of order. The Board may combine two or more agenda items for consideration. The Board may remove an item from the agenda or delay discussion relating to an item on the agenda at any time. Consent agenda items are in italics. The mission of the Nevada State Board of Nursing is to protect the public's health, safety and welfare through effective regulation of nursing. Public Comment Procedure: 1. Public Comment will be taken at the beginning and at the end of every day of the Board meeting; 2. Public Comment may also be taken at other such times as requested so long as the request that Public Comment be taken will not interrupt ongoing Board business; 3. Those individuals wishing to present concerns to the Board are to sign in prior to speaking; 4. Depending on the number of individuals wishing to address the Board, a reasonable time, place and manner limitation on the public comments may be set. The Board will not restrict comments based upon viewpoint; 5. No action may be taken upon a matter raised during Public Comment until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action may be taken. Notice of Proposed Regulation Public Adoption Hearing Pursuant to NRS 233B.061(2): ( ) Amendment of Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) ; : The proposed amendment to NAC would establish an advisory committee concerning the practice of licensed practical nurses, and would revise the duties of an advisory committee concerning certain issues relating to impairment and substance abuse. The proposed amendment to NAC would be to repeal that regulation because the duties and responsibilities of the advisory committee concerning certain issues relating to impairment and substance abuse would be moved to NAC (LCB File No. R125-17). Notice of Proposed Regulation Public Adoption Hearing Pursuant to NRS 233B.061(2): ( ) Amendment of Section 1 of LCB File No. R105-15: The proposed amendment to Section 1 of LCB File No. R is based upon Senate Bill No. 227 of the 79 th Session of the Nevada Legislature which expanded the list of persons who are authorized to evaluate a person upon the emergency admission of the person to a mental health facility or hospital to include an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who has obtained certain psychiatric training and experience. Senate Bill No. 227 requires the Nevada State Board of Nursing to adopt regulations prescribing the psychiatric training and experience necessary before an APRN may complete the evaluations.
