1 Morgan Crammond Senior Ladies Bursary Winner I was lucky enough to receive the Maureen Whelan Memorial Bursary in The bursary was put towards flights helping me travel to the North American National Championships which was held in New Orleans July This bursary meant that I was able to have the opportunity to experience competing at an international level. In helping me get to the North American Championships, this bursary has helped me achieve goals and reach new heights within my dance career. I feel very lucky and appreciative to have been able to receive and benefit from the Maureen Whelan Memorial Bursary.

2 Conor Simpson Senior Mens Bursary Winner Winning the Maureen Whelan bursary was a wonderful boost to my dancing career. The bursary enabled me to travel to Belfast in January 2017 to compete on an international level. In the month that I was in Ireland I competed in three Championships as a lead up to the All Scotland's. I was thrilled to win the All Scotland's and then go on to place third in the senior men's section at the World Championships. I would like to thank AIDA so much for providing the bursary. The fact that it was the Maureen Whelan bursary made it all the more special as she is a lady that has always been so supportive of myself and other Australian dancers and she was someone that I greatly admired.

3 Natalie O Connor - 19yrs Bursary Winner This year I decided to train in Ireland in the months leading up to the World Championships in Dublin where I placed 4th. The Bursary I received from AIDA helped towards my air fare to Ireland and therefore the opportunity to experience Irish Dancing within Ireland itself. This was a truly unique and enriching experience from which I was able to grow as a dancer and also gain a greater sense of independence and confidence within myself as an individual. I will hold on to so many memories made during my time overseas - from the wonderful people I met and places I visited, to placing 4th in the World and in this, accomplishing a lifelong goal. Thank you AIDA inc. for helping me with my experience.

4 Kieran Ayers - 19yrs Bursary Winner The money I received from the AIDA bursary was put towards my flights to the 2017 World Championships in Dublin. The bursary helped by allowing me to focus more time and effort into my dancing, as a portion of the financial side of competing overseas was taken care of. The bursary itself was a great motivating factor in my 2016 competition season. It pushed me to increase my training levels leading up to the nationals, and then to continue dancing through the summer to compete on the world stage for the last time.

5 Chloe Pearce - 18yrs Bursary Winner With the help of the bursary I won last year, I was able to travel overseas and compete at the World Championships. It was a huge honour to once again represent Australia overseas in both solo and team events. It really helped further my dancing career as I was able to compete at Worlds again, but I also feel I benefited from this bursary as it allowed me achieve my goals.

6 Jonty Moore - 17yrs Bursary Winner Hi, I am Jonty Moore and I am the years Junior Men's National Champion and a recipient of the $700 bursary. Through this bursary, I was lucky enough to help it assist me to dance overseas and train in Ireland three months prior to the 2017 World Championships. With the costs of Irish Dancing being quite severe, it enabled me to prepare in an environment that was very much like the World Championships. I was very thankful that I received the Bursary and I hope that anyone else that receives it gets the help that I received with the money.

7 Dakota Courtney 17yrs Bursary Winner Winning the AIDA bursary as the 2016 ladies 17years Australian Champion enabled me to travel to Ireland to compete at many competitions at an international level leading up to the World Championships. Having had great success in 2016 I was absolutely thrilled able to continue this in the 4 months I was in Ireland by being placed 5th at the All Scotland Championships, 6th at the Northern Championships and 12th at the World Championships. I returned home to compete at the Australian International Oireachtas where I won the ladies 18years. I would like to sincerely thank AIDA Inc for their constant support.
