2 New Directions in Prevention Ontario s prevention system is restructuring to better meet the needs of employers and workers 2008 WSIB embarked on the 5-year Road to Zero strategy to reduce lost-time injuries by 7% each year 2009 WSIB Board approves plan to realign Health & Safety Associations to achieve Road to Zero objectives 2010 Amalgamation of 12 health and safety associations into four new associations as of January 1 st 2

3 What will the new system look like? 4 new health and safety associations: Health and Safety Association for Government Services Infrastructure Health & Safety Association Safe Workplace Promotion Services Ontario Workplace Safety North The Workers Health & Safety Centre and Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers will continue to operate within the new model 3

4 Four Ways the System Will Change We ll have more resources to devote to Ontario s employers and workers We ll provide more sector specific products and services We ll make it easier to access information and resources We ll be more responsive to clients and increase access to services in the North 4
