1 Innovation to Practice Wednesday 29 November Conference Programme With thanks to our headline sponsor
2 Thank you for joining us at the 7th RPS Wales Medicines Safety Conference Welcome and Croeso to the Medicines Safety Conference I m hugely proud to see how this conference has grown from an intimate symposium, into the open and inclusive event that we have this year, with speakers and delegates from across various health professions, all sectors and all corners of the country. Those of you who attended last year may remember Professor Don Berwick s message, stressing that system change and innovation must be at the heart of any pursuit to improve medicines safety. Today we will explore the latest developments in science and technology, workforce design and practice development that will help achieve this aim. I m particularly excited for this afternoon s motivational presentation from Sally Gunnell OBE, former Olympic, World and Commonwealth champion. Ms Gunnell will reflect on her time as an elite athlete and draw comparisons with how health professionals can use the same techniques to develop greater resilience. The focus on wellbeing is vital, as health professionals experience more pressure and demand, as roles and responsibilities change in the health service. We hope that you enjoy today s conference and will leave equipped and inspired to be the innovators within your own workplace! Mair Davies, Royal Pharmaceutical Society Director for Wales
