1 Your workplace impacts your health and safety Smart business owners agree that a company s greatest asset The law says that all are the men and women who employees have the right to comprise its workforce...that s know all hazards in their you and your coworkers. Working in an environment that minimizes workplace. injury and illness makes you and your fellow employees feel better and work more productively. That s good for you and your company. However, in those situations when work-related injury or illness do occur, you ll want expert healthcare professionals who can diagnose and treat your injury or illness, and then assist you in managing the oftentimes confusing insurance and workers compensation claims that follow. You ll also want advocates who will speak to your employer about possible workplace changes to mitigate future instances of similar injury or illness to you or your coworkers. The Long Island Occupational & Environmental Health Center (LIOEHC) wants to be your occupational healthcare partner. Our goal is to assist your company with developing a work environment that is safe for you and encourages prevention, early detection, and intervention. If you do experience a work-related injury or illness, we ll respond with aggressive treatment, rehabilitation as needed, and follow-up evaluations for you and any affected family members. Our comprehensive approach helps ensure that lost time is minimized and that you can return to work with reduced risk of repeated injury or illness.
