3 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY June 30 at GAIN Centre Services at GAIN ERC operational to June 30 County s lease ends and space cleared Final day of work for GAIN Information Services Supervisor and Assistants All GAIN vendors and suppliers must end their services on June 30 Contracted ERC services fully operational at Strathroy Library by this date

4 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY June 30 at Strathroy Library All contracted ERC services have been operational since mid-june Strathroy library staff under the direction of the Reference Librarian providing the services Service Canada on-site and meeting with clients 3 days/week Middlesex County Ontario Works onsite each day for verification of client application information

5 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Transition Goals Seamless transfer of services during the month of June and completed by June 30 Notices, ads, handouts and radio announcements to advise the public of the new location will start in June and continue over the summer Teamwork between library staff and Ontario Works staff to develop synergies and problem solve

6 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Mandate of Strathroy Library Employment Resource Centre (as per the library board s contract with the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities MTCU) Assist clients with finding information they need using both electronic and printed resources. Provide workstations, word processing and other specific software as well as staff to assist clients with creating, editing, and updating resumes and job applications.

7 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Mandate of Strathroy Library Employment Resource Centre Provide information regarding income support, employment resources, learning resources, contact details for other agencies working in the area who can provide skills upgrading, career assessment and employment counseling. Maintain a local job bulletin board for area employers to post local vacancies and for the posting of job opportunities obtained from local media. Gate count plus offer all clients the opportunity to complete a customer survey

8 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Dorchester Model Training at Dorchester ERC Visited Dorchester ERC on April 12 th and April 14 th Toured the Dorchester ERC facility with Dorchester Library Supervisor Kathryn Suffoletta. Learned about frequently asked client questions, Kathryn answered my questions about the ERC, and she spoke about the agencies and organizations that use the library space. Strathroy assistants will be training at Dorchester ERC in the coming weeks.

9 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Strathroy Staff Training Kathryn Suffoletta presented to Strathroy staff at a staff meeting on April 20 th She spoke about the most frequent client requests that Dorchester ERC staff help with including: online applications EI, Service Canada, job finding forms using the fax or copier composing, revising, and saving resumes and cover letters

10 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Strathroy Staff Training Ongoing presentations to library assistants at staff meetings and one-on-one training on the following topics: Setting up a Service Canada Account and Employment forms Social Insurance Number form Canadian Passport form Service Ontario website WinWay resume writing software

11 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Networking with Other Area Service Providers Attended the Interagency Network Luncheon at Search Community Mental Health Services on May 4, Vanessa Jenner also attended. Visited the new Community Employment Choices facility on May 24. Spoke with manager Bill Pigram about their services. Vanessa Jenner and Tammy Johnson also attended. LEADS Employment has requested a tour of the Strathroy Library s facilities in June.

12 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Strathroy Business and Employment Print Collection Print material has been ordered for Strathroy Library to increase our collection in the following subject areas: resume writing business writing interviewing job hunting small business help

13 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Plans for Marketing and Promotion Radio advertisements with local Strathroy radio station MyFM Newspaper print ads in the Strathroy Age will be running in June. As well, press releases will be sent to the other local newspapers in the area.

14 MAY 31, of 14 A 3 - LIBRARY Strathroy Library Renovations Approval for plans to renovate the library space to allow government information services to be delivered from the Strathroy Library in a long term sustainable model is part of the Strathroy-Caradoc 2011 budget deliberations The Strathroy ERC will be fully operational and meeting all contractual obligations until renovations are completed The Library Board s contract with MTCU ends March
