2 ABOUT ARTS4SDGoals ART CONTEST Arts For Sustainable Development Goals is an initiative of Tender Arts Nigeria to raise young advocates for SDGS through creative media. It is a partnership project with United Nations Information Centre, Lagos Nigeria. Arts4SDGS is a creative campaign to raise awareness about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Arts have been discovered to be one of the most potent potentials activated to inspire change in human behaviour and societal development. Thus, this is an opportunity to be educated through works of art that emphasizes right values; this is a call to action for everyone to make the world a better place. Objectives Of Arts4SDGoal Arts4SDGoals aimed to help children and young people to look inward and use their creative ingenuity to express in artistic forms the Sustainable Development Goals To raise SGDS Advocates through Arts To promote sustainable development goals in creative ways To create varieties of art works in African contexts and cultural content To create awareness within schools, community and government agencies To promote art education and advocacy To highlight the significance of creativity in advocacy and awareness efforts towards SDGs Implementation. To localize the #LeaveNoOneBehind Agenda by mobilizing creative professionals. To bridge the communication gaps between professional development workers and grassrootsmobilizers. To develop multi-sectoral partnerships across board towards the attainment of the UN SDGoals To celebrate creative and intellectual works of children and young Nigerians

3 ABOUT ARTS4SDGoals THEME: Sustainable Development Goals Through The Eyes of An Artist CATEGORIES OF PARTICIPANTS Participants: Public, Private Schools in Lagos Nigeria Primary 4-6 (Size of work 12x16 Inches) JSS1-JSS3 (Size of Work 14x18 inches) SS1-SS3 (16X20 Inches) TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS: This include Students in College of Education, Polytechnic, Monotechnic and University (Size of work 20x24 inches) Participants are expected to write 50 letter words about their works FREELANCE: (Size of work 20x24 inches) Age limit: 30years CREATIVE WORKS Arts4SDGoals can be produced in the following art forms: Drawing, Painting, Photography, Poetry, Installation Arts, Mixed Media, Collage MATERIALS Pencil, Crayons, Poster Colours, Acrylic Paints, Oil Colour, Magazine, Old Newpaper, Canvas, Cardboards POETRY Poems written minimum of 100 words, maximum of 200 words Participants should send in their data in this order when submitting work

4 Names, School, Address, Age, Phone numbers, Title of works, medium/materials PHOTOGRAPHY Participants would be expected to send in the soft copies of their entries to SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOR PARTICIPANTS Participants are expected to study the 17 SDGoals to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding before attempting create his or work of arts. You can read about the 17 Sustainable Development goals by searching the internet. Participants are expected to pick any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and create a work of arts around it. Ensure your full names are written on your work Only one entry is allowed. Multiple entries would be disqualified. Participation is limited to residents in Lagos State, Nigeria Participation has no financial rewards ARTS4SDGOals are not are not for any commercial purpose, either at exhibition or in publication. It means that you are giving us the liberty to use your entry to promote SDGoals to spur awareness globally. SUMISSION OF WORKS: Deadline: January 31st, 2017 Participants are to send the soft copies of their works to art4sdgs-unic@tenderartsng.org, tenderarts@gmail.com This includes the name, phone numbers, school address, age, class of the participants. Freelance artists may just forward their names, address and phone numbers. REGISTRATION Entry is Free BENEFITS FOR PARTICIPANTS E-Certificate as an advocate of SDGoals (Arts4SDGoals) Badge of Honour (For Shorlisted 1000 candidates)
